  1. I love the outdoors and bass fishing seems to be the most accessible. In my state there are no season dates so you can fish all year round. Most waters are public. No matter what your skill level, there is equipment suited for you. Bass are prevalent in almost every body of water in my state no matter how big or small. I like the way bass fight. Usually a few good trips will get you hooked.
  2. Al Davis said I could in his will.
  3. Jeez! Here piggy piggy!!!
  4. The Raiders have now drafted QB Tyler Wilson. Now the Raiders could have a Razorback backfield with Darren McFadden. I'm definitely going to pay attention to the Raiders now. It's like U of A- West!
  5. Earlier this month I caught a 15lb Striper on a 1/2 oz Rat'L'Trap on 12lb Berkley Big Game line. Great fight at the beginning but they wear out after a short time. None the less exciting though. I thought I had a monster bass!
  6. Do any of you guys use Navionics Hot Maps Premium 2D lake map cards?
  7. When you guys get out your lake maps and look at the contour lines, what are you looking for? What makes you guys say to yourself "I've got to fish there!"?
  8. What color is your most effective? I always opt for pearl or white ice (not sure of the names) but my uncle like green pumpkin.
  9. I had a thread on here about my Gen 3 Revo S. I am returning it to BPS. Hope the replacement is better.
  10. It's a measuring contest. People are probably insecure about small fish. Does it really matter? No. I go fishing for fun. Do you and I want to catch a huge fish? Sure. But tell me why we have a PB line under the profile pictures? As long as there is a measurement system people want to be the best. And catching a big fish makes us feel better and justifies all this equipment we buy. If a guy is happy distorting his fish, let him be. It doesn't mean you have to buy into it.
  11. No kidding! I looked at Tackle Warehouse and started second guessing myself. You lose one of those baits and you've had an expensive fishing trip.
  12. Up to $20 for bait, hoping I already have enough equipment suited for swimbaits. I have braid and heavy action rods.
  13. Something like a multi-jointed or jointed hard body with trebles. I don't know much about them. There's lipless and lipped. I saw someone throw a lipless multi-jointed swimbait and I was so impressed that I wanted to learn more about them and purchase a few to try.
  14. Hey guys. I need some suggestions on which swimbaits to buy and some advice such as rod, reel, line and locations to fish these baits. I look forward to reading your suggestions and advice.
  15. Update: Finally went on my guided trip. Got skunked. We had two bites. Supposedly this guy had been catching fish all week with clients. Out of the last three trips I think I've caught one fish. And to top it off, I set the hook on a big fish and POW! the rod snaps above the first eye and snaps the line. Then the guy tells me "yeah, a guy stepped on that rod a few days ago. See where I had to fix these two top eyes." I was mad. That was the 1 of 2 bites for the day. I go out a few weeks ago and land a 15 lb striper with my Veritas and a Rat'L'Trap. Needless to say I'm not paying to go striper fishing any more. My next step is to buy a flipping stick and A-rig if I want stripers. Disappointed but I have many more fishing trips to look forward to.
  16. Does anyone else throw the little tube baits for perch?
  17. Right now I have a Abu spinning set up with braid and a leader with a white fluke rigged conventional with a hook that has a cork screw for the nose. I did this because my fluke on regular hooks tends to ball up after a few casts. I fish it like you do, Matt. Just under the surface with a few pauses and make it dart from left to right.
  18. I've caught more fish on a lipless. That's why I like them. I need to throw a spinnerbait more, especially against the banks.
  19. Maybe I'm thinking of Car & Driver TV. Anyhow, you get the picture.
  20. Amen. Nothing is better to me than a scenario such as Jim Scoutten from Motor Trend TV narrating while some country fella boils the rear tires of a Chevelle on a country back road while Hot Blooded by Foreigner plays during the intro. "This week on Motor Trend..."
  21. In this experiment would we be able to use a Zebco 33 Classic or Revo Winch on the Ugly Stick?
  22. When I hear "snakehead" panic comes to mind, but think about all the species that co-exist with bass. Stripers, alligator gar, muskie & catfish all come to mind. I'm sure that the snakehead isn't the first fish to grab a baby bass for dinner, or even larger.
  23. So you hook your Super Fluke belly up and not the conventional way?
  24. What rod are you using to throw "The Rig"? I almost bought a flipping stick at Academy a few months ago thinking it might be a good choice.
