  1. Megabass PopX Megabass Knuckle 4-Wire A-Rig Swim Jig Zoom Lizard Zoom Speed Worm Chatterbait Soft Swimbait Roboworm Drop Shot Lipless Crank
  2. I've found Phoenix boats to have the best ride, without a doubt.
  3. I would pass on the non-glx version of this rod. You will be disappointed if you want a Loomis rod, as this rod doesn't have the sensitivity of a traditional Loomis. The GLX, on the other hand, is very sensitive and light. It fishes really well. The older GLX is a terrific rod, and can be found around $200 from time to time. I would be a little patient and try to pick up one of those used vs. a new SHR822.
  4. Thanks, I am a big fan of Rage Tail lizards, but am looking for more options regarding colors.
  5. I've got an order being made from Paul, I should get it in another week or two. He does make some sweet looking baits.
  6. Does anyone have a good source for hand poured lizards? Preferably, something that I could customize color on an order. I've tried a few different companies, and haven't been able to find a bait that I like.
  7. Winter for me is a little different, being in Florida....but my topwater bite has shut off unless I throw into action I see (which has been rare the last few weeks), like flyfisher said.
  8. I have a handful of GLX and NRX in MH-XF with a weight range of 3/16 to 5/8. I throw t-rigs and light jigs on these setups. My M-XF rod is a legend extreme, and it has a range of 1/4 to 5/8. I fish this rod on topwaters and jerkbaits (at times), and it performs excellent. My MH-XF rods load up easier than my M-XF. If I were you, I would get a M-XF in the weight range you are looking for.
  9. I've used Yozuri Hybrid 12 # with great success for Texas rigging, jigs, etc. I've also gone braid with Flouro leader, but I am very confident in the Yozuri. so that's what I use on most of my rigs.
  10. Pretty sure it is a Rapala X-Rap Sub Walk, in Olive Green.
  11. I'm trying to find the answer to this question also....so far to me I like the 2500 Saros and 2500 Stradic CI4+, but am toying with a 1000 size reel.
  12. I would go with a Shimano Saros....which you can find new at 110ish.
  13. I have this rod, and fish it for light T-Rigs as well. I've had no problems with flouro. At that price, I'd say go for it....the rod is incredible, and I like it more than my 803 NRX for that application.
  14. Free sliding for me, the lighter weight with less wind. I found the lizard gets hit on the fall a lot of the time and if it doesn't, I swim it back where I get strikes around cover. I throw mine on a MH-XF rod with 12# Yozuri Hybrid.
  15. I've found Zoom or Rage lizards in a watermelon, green pumpkin, or junebug color are deadly Texas rigged with a 1/8 or 3/16 weight.
  16. It really depends on the bait for me. I will use anything from 1/16 Bass Magic Shaky Heads for tiny baits, to a Dirty Jig 1/8 for little dippers, up to a Buckeye Swimbait 1/4 for dippers. I usually have a couple tied on to fish different depths, and this works the best for me.
  17. I use one (as a co-angler) during tournaments and it is fantastic. I have put 8 rods in with no issues.
  18. The Tornado Spinnerbait.
  19. I have this rod, and I think anything over 4oz will be tough. Its a good rod to throw my 68 Hudd, but I'd be very cautious with an 8". It can be done, but will lose effectiveness as others mentioned.
  20. Oh, about 15 years ago, when I was just getting into fishing in high school, I hooked my ear on the cast with a floating Rapala. I was trying to cast it as far as I could, and was loose on my cast. It felt like someone hit me with an oar in the back of my head. Blood running down my head, treble stuck in my upper ear. Urgent care, docs and nurses fascinated.....quite embarrassing.
  21. Sweet bait. I'd fish it without the snap.
  22. I have the Rapala Digital with the gripper, and it works. Got it at Sports Authority on a 75% off sale. It hasn't failed me on fish up to 10 lbs.
  23. I use an XFT806 for my frog rod, and can throw smaller swimbaits with it.
  24. I have one, and have more on the way. Incredible casting distance and accuracy. The reel has fairly good power, as well. It is a little bulky, but I have very large hands, and this reel fits perfectly. I am replacing all of the reels on my "moving bait" setups to this reel.
