  1. You can pick up KVD Line & Lure Conditioner at Tackle Warehouse for less then at BPS. $7.79 as I recall.
  2. Definitely use KVD Line & Lure on Braid. It will keep the finish the factory applies to the line intact much longer. Which means the line will last longer before it starts to loose color and fray. It also will keep braids from picking up minerals from the water. It is the minerals that make braid abrasive and wear on guides and the line itself. Rob
  3. Might be a little late but riveted boats do flex and wear on the rivets and holes over the years. The boat is still structurally sound I am sure as long as you stop filling it with water while in the trailer (bad idea). A good trick to tighten the rivets up is to GENTLY use a body hammer and dolly on every rivet you can get to BEFORE YOU SEAL IT. Hold the dolly on one side and the hammer in the other (have a friend help where you can't reach both sides). This will put tension back on the rivets and tighten up the seams in the overlapping metal panels. A great way to seal the inner hull is to use the do it yourself urethane bed liner coatings that are like Rhino-liner, etc. They are normally cheaper then exotic epoxies and are available at most auto part stores. The finish looks good and is bullet proof and slip resistant.
  4. Raul is right on this one. Keeping your tackle boxes/bags dry is the key. Also a good trick is to spray your baits with KVD Line & Lure Conditioner. It has corrosion inhibiters in it that really do the job of keeping oxidation down... spray it on, let air dry and your done.
  5. KVD is not a general lube. I would not suggest that you use it on gun metal as it has a water base.
  6. There was this Bubba at the Bassmaster Classic some years back that came to the Line & Lure booth and complained about the price of the product. He declared that he was a faithful Reel Magic user and that it was a lot cheaper. I tried to let him know that the 4 oz. blue aerosol can that he bought at Wally World really contained 50% aerosol propellant and really wasn't really quite the deal he thought it was. He didn't like my response and decided to argue the point further. I noticed that he was drinking one of those 22ounce ice-cold Budweiser's that he got from the concession stand for $8.95. Being the master aerator that I am, I tried to politely equate the season long value of a L&L purchase at that same $8.95 cost to the 10 minute love affair he was having with that beer. Well, he didn't think I was too funny The point is; people will defend their point of view even to their own determent. I put butter in my toast. I don't need it, it's way over priced and I'm told it's bad for me. I still buy it and eat itbecause I like it. This is simply human nature. I thank all of you for you support and am impressed with the passion of this debate. I thank you all for your loyalty to Line & Lure. As most have offered here, the two products are entirely different. The main similarity being that they are both used on fishing line. First off, L&L is the first and only product that was developed strictly as a fishing line conditioner. KVD was instrumental in this research and development as most of you are aware. We looked at the competition very carefully when creating the product and asked hundreds of anglers a lot of questions about what benefits a true line conditioner should have. The benefits we were looking to achieve were pretty straightforward; i.e. the main benefits that you read on our label. In research, the overwhelming comments from anglers were more about the problems that the other products brought into play then the benefits. Please understand that Reel Magic has been around for years and was never formulated as a line conditioner. Back in the day, it was found that this particular oil had some effect of softening and lubing mono line. Some enterprising guys rebottled it and sold it to fishermen as a line spray. No one ever questioned what the product really was or actually did. This light lubricant has always been manufactured by one of the major petroleum refiners and repackaged as the product, Reel Magic that you buy. In research for L&L, we immediately found that there was no reason to have a line conditioner that contains 98% silicon oil. It's complete overkill and serves no extra benefit to the line at that concentration. The funny thing is that the other 2% is petroleum distillates (solvents) and that's what does the real softening to mono line by slowly dissolving the line (and many other surfaces tat it gets on). Try putting some line in acetone and see what happens. We also found that 99% of that oil ends up in the water your fishing in within 10 casts. One of the big problems is that many of these petroleum distillates are listed by the EPA as toxic to aquatic life. Many of these solvents are also water-soluble, they dissolve into the waters we're fishing and pollute them. This just isn't necessary or healthy. Think about it, the amount of surface area of line is extremely small and it takes little liquid to coat that surface area. Why douse the line with oil that won't absorb down into the spool effectively. Also oil will not bond to the line and comes off rapidly. Line & Lure has nothing toxic in it and will not leach into the environment. These are some of the reasons Line & Lure is water based. If L&L comes of or drips in the water well it's mainly water, no harm, no foul. Water is naturally the best carrier for what we are trying to accomplish, because water soaks into everything. It's the best vehicle to get the good stuff down deep in the line loops. Being that we only want to treat this very small amount of surface area the product doesn't need to be any more concentrated then it is. The water is also necessary to activate our polymers ( not oil). These polymers not only condition the line, they actively attach and become part of the line. They protect the line itself from abrasion and sunlight by acting as a sacrificial barrier on the line. I have read comments on this and other forums by people thinking it should be thicker, smell different, have color, last longer and cost less, etc. Well, why fix it if it ain't broken? As for price, the retailers are the ones that control that. As many of you have said, it does as advertised. I think that's what counts. Is it perfect? No but then neither is fishing line. You come up with a perfect line and then you are right Line & Lure is not necessary. Until then if you are looking for better line management and more time fishing instead of fussing with your line, try KVD Line & Lure. If not you have alternatives. $8.95 beer anybody?
  7. [ You will love Line & Lure and actually you get 2 ounces more Reel Magic (50%) for $1.00 less but you end up using 3 times as much. Make sure when you do your comparison that you don't try L&L over Reel Magic. The oil in RM will not let the polymers in L&L to attach to the line properly and you will not get the full benefits that the product offers. Read the other threads on the forum for application details or check out www.lineandlure.com for all the info on Line & Lure.
  8. Shorefisher, Yes, pre-treatment with Line & Lure will help mono from absorbng water and make the line last longer too. Rob
  9. Thats the good thing about Line & Lure Conditioner. Its not a spray and cast product. You pretreat the line before you go out. The one treatment will last you the better part of the day if not all day.
  10. As most here will agree, using KVD Line & Lure will help with your casting distance and accuracy and reduce you backlashes...As for the reel I cant help there.
  11. Including line, rods, boats, etc. :'(
  12. Yea and they both use Line & Lure 8-)
  13. The main effect of Line & Lure with line twist is that it helps the line from "retaining" the memory of the twist in line. The slickness of the product also creates less tendency for line roll created by the action of the rotating bail and helps reduce resulting line wear.
  14. Much, in most oppinions here.
  15. Most of the problems that are mentioned on this thread can be greatly reduced (fixed) by using KVD Line & Lure Conditioner ie memory, stiffness, casting problems and premature wear. Check out the other thraed here at: http: //www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1214869077/0. This stuff is for real.
  16. Hey you all, The Cleaver Innovation website is part of RMR Industries the makers of Line & Lure(our web store) and being that we are advertisers here there should be no problem listing the link.
  17. Don't waste it. Just give it a good spray once when you put it up for storage and then a lite spray an hour or two before you start fishing. You'll get the hang of it.
  18. Triple R, You will start to see the effects the more you use L&L. Spray your rigs down the night before (to let dry) you go out on the first application then reapply after a day of fishing. Your line will have virtually no memory and last 3 to 4 times longer.
  19. You won't find it at Cabela's. They take the Reel Magic mind set that Matt talked about here. You would be doing us and Cabela's a favor by asking the manager why they don't carry L&L (I don't think they like KVD). Suggest that they start carrying it and that goes for Gander Mtn. too. Too many of these stores only carry what they want you to buy and not what the customers want. Thanks to every one of you for your great response and loyalty. We work very hard to create a product that really works and our efforts are starting to pay off thanks to folks like you! Tell all your fishing friends to join the line & Lure army. Rob
  20. Cajun1977, I like to see a man that is convicted to his principles (and products). That's the kind of customers we love to have. Have you looked at the other threads on this site about BTS? Did you have a chance to take advantage of the free BTS trial last week offered to Bass Resource members? We don't ask anyone to take our word for BTS. We have had BTS out for about a year now and have converted nearly every BBS customer to BTS that has tried it. BTS is used by about 60% of the Bass Elite field and most of them pay retail for it. Bass Boat Saver is a good product, but the makers suggest it to be used after every outing. To me that's a lot of product use, but that's just me. BTS application is suggested monthly (or less frequently) depending on use. BTS costs no more then BBS per ounce, so overall is much more economical. It creates such a durable finish that a simple wipe-down with a towel gets off all the grime, scum line and exhaust stains included and contains a much higher level of UV "A" and "B" blockers. . It does all that BBS does and much more. BTS wants your business and is willing to prove its value with a no questions asked money back guarantee. Check out the thread here at: http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1214506297/0 . Keep checking into the forum for the field tester reviews of BTS in the next couple of weeks.
  21. Thanks Buddy, We are happy that you and so many other anglers are finding out what L&L can do to improve their fishing time. Tell you friends! Have you tried the BTS samples we handed out at Guntersville? Check out the BTS Thread: http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1211716337/1#1 to see what others think of it. Would you all like it if you had an opportunity to try BTS for free? You might be able to talk me into a forum member's only trial. Let me hear from you.
  22. Sam, Your technique for Line & Lure application is almost perfect. I would highly recommend you stay away from the washcloth. Any cotton, wool, paper towel or other natural fabric will grab and hold one of the main components that make Line & Lure work so well. Use a synthetic fiber like a old dress sock or kitchen handy wipe. Anything nylon will work great and make the L&L more effective. The Line & Lure Guru
  23. Justin, Just get yourself some KVD Line & Lire Conditioner. Follow the application directions and you'll be a believer in no time.
  24. Well, I think we may have found the problem. The Line & Lure label has been the same since it's release to market in April of 2005. The only label you could get from us is the black and white one with KVD in his 2005 white jersey. We have never produced any gray label bottles. There is a product that I recently discovered that is another "line & Lure" produced by a company called Weatherlock. They had the audacity to actually steal our trademarked name and use it on the market. If it is this product, IT IS NOT KVD Line & Lure Conditioner. Got a picture of this gray-labeled bottle? And the plot thickens!
  25. Well in all fairness, has anyone had line degrade from using Line & Lure out there? This is something that we want to know in an effort to make/keep a superior product. Let us know. Fish Tank, I in no way meant to infer that you don't know what you're talking about. Sorry if is seemed that way. It's just that there is nothing in L&L that can make line brittle. Unless it's been messed with?? Got any practical jokers around?
