I mostly use braid but I have fluoro on my crankbait rod as fluoro sinks and gives me a little added forgiveness with fish. Was considering putting fluoro on my flipping setup to improve the fall. And it might just be me, but I've noticed that fluoro tends to slide through wood better...I seem to lose a lot more rigs in wood with braid than I do fluoro.

Yea I figured since I was at walmart, that the product had had a rough life up to that point of me picking it up. and if someone doesn't look to make sure their rod is straight before buying it (it was obviously cockeyed) then I question whether or not they should be buying a rod. On a side note...I saw the new Abu vendettas...very nice...I have the slightly older model now and I almost want to sell it to get the new one.

7'6" rod...let's you flip further...7'11" seems too long for my personal taste. I'd probably go with xf action if you were punching, allows you to set hook harder and pull them out of the slop faster. The fast action may be a little more forgiving though. Also, a 7 to 1 reel is very important. If a bass runs at you after flipping, you need to pick the line up fast to set hook...and it helps to haul the bass out of cover and keep them on top of it.

Went to wally world today and saw those yellow skeet reese rods from a mile away and decided I'd check out how they feel. Pulled a BC model down, gave it the look over and balance test. I then tested the action of the rod by twitching it like you would when walking the dog. CRACK! I inspected rod and it was bent about 3-4 guides down. I put that sucker back and quickly wrote the W&M skeet reese rod off my shortlist for flipping rods this holiday season.

Couple years ago actually...never used them really before then as I was young and didn't understand how to use them. Well I was floating down the south branch of potomac when I got up to a long slow section with a large tree blown over in the middle. I cast past the tree a little ways and dragged the brown 3/8oz with craw trailer until I got beside the tree and felt resistance on the bottom (a limb? a rock?)....then I shook the rod tip back and forth to simulate a crawdad digging in...after a couple seconds of shakes...I felt tap tap tap Pulled a 3.5 pound smallie off that tree. I practically had a woody.

d bomb has an oil coating..pretty sure it imparts extra.flavor on the beaver. keeps bait in mouth longer.

Has anyone picked up one of these yet? I love my Daiwa Team T rod and I'm now looking for a 7'6" punch/flip rod and they have a fast action one available in a series 1 level above the Team T. I haven't seen any reviews yet and only a small blurb on tackle tour.

take a 6'6" medium moderate rod and punch weeds then take a 7"11 extra heavy xtra fast and punch and come back to me. huge difference between my 7 m and 7 mh when pulling bass out of timber...HUGE difference.

wind I've seen it right at my feet before right along shore in crystal clear water. Can fish and bugs make it? yea... but you are better off ignoring them.

I've been using seaguar red label, but want to try sniper fc.

this time of year has opened up the begetation enough for me to bank fish from steep dropoffs. the hill goes straight down into maybe 12-15 feet of water with green hrass and standing timber. figure this will be my best spot on the mini lake i fish. problem is.casting distance is limited and if i slip ill slide into water...

i havent tried ripping with anything...seems like an.exhausting pattern...when i do try i pop the rod.tip quickly just to get it off the weeds.

couple days ago the bass were plucking at my d bomb trailer. actually got on a steep bank and watchex a pound n a half nibble on it. Is this when you change colors or what?
