Bass Fishing A River?
no difference, just a nuance of our language. On smaller non navigable rivers, I like crawdad imitators, IE jigs/crankbaits. Throw the jig out and crawl it on the bottom until you back it up to some object (rock, grass, log) and then jiggle the tip of rock. Makes it look like a crawdad trying to dig into the cover. Caught a really nice 20 inch smallmouth doing that last year. Topwater is usually dynamite in the summer. Texas rigged swimming soft plastics are great too, allows you to throw in cover/bounce off rocks/ or swim over grass.

Drop Shot For Brown Trout
Getting hung up in rocks is certainly a concern. Luckily a lot of weights can be popped off after getting snagged, but I may end up needing a couple bags of them... Just trying to think of some new trout tactics.

Supporting Mom And Pop
Went to a local outdoor store yesterday after work as I was bored. I haven't been there in a couple years since it opened and wasn't blown away. But yesterday...well I blew an hour without realizing it and spent 50 bucks. They had every koppers live target product, almost all of the strike king KVD crankbaits, and a very large assortment of rapala lures. High quality lines, rods, reels (rods were mostly spinning though, not many baitcasters). Also a nice selection of soft plastics and are willing to order what you request. I had to pay a little bit more than I would have on tackle warehouse, but supporting a local business and getting the bait monkey off my back instantly feels good. Does anyone else prefer their local shops over large chains (Cabelas, BPS, Gander Mountain) and online stores?

Lews Speed Spool?
I've got a few hours on the speed spool. I like it so far, but have only caught a few dinks on it.

Drop Shot For Brown Trout
Anyone ever use drop shots for trout, especially brown trout in rivers and streams? I've had them hit small rapalas so I think a lifelike finesse technique like a dropshot with a juicy soft plastic would entice some large brown trout.

Lake Baccarac On Fire!!!!
those bass could eat my PB!

Guntersville Nasty Rumor
2 points 1. This creates jobs (1-2 month's worth) and 2. Those people with expensive boats (and deep wallets) don't care for paying for damage caused by grass and don't care to swim in it either.

Whats Your Most Interesting Find While Fishing ?
A couple cheap rods. Someone will find a 3/4 oz war eagle I left on top of a stump yesterday...

When Bass Aren't Committing
Was bank fishing today at a small local lake. Had a small pike follow my frog but not hit. Had a 1-2 pound largemouth swipe at my 1/2oz spinnerbait twice (trailer hook would have nabbed him, but too many weeds). Had a couple good size and a few smaller chase down swimjigs/soft plastic swimbaits, and frog, but they wouldn't strike. Was fishing in a cove with timber and grass that wind was blowing into. Saw a few good bass patrolling. I even 3 smaller bass jump completely out of water for bugs. Water was a light tea color and it was sunny all day. I had a 20lb flouro w/ 7 mh rod. I didn't have many small top water lures and the ones I did aren't effective with my setup. Any ideas?

Field And Stream Eagle Talon
Heavy, sure. But I'm pretty darn strong and won't have to drag it far.

Acend Fs128T Kayak
I'm really dead set on getting the 128t. Mounting a trolling motor seems very easy which will make fishing easier (my rotator cuff can't handle rowing). The ability to stand and the high seat are a huge positive for me as I did not enjoy sitting at water level in my friends inflatable kayak.

Un-Snagging Deep Crankbaits
The other day, thought I was going to lose one of my KVDs. DIdn't have anything to drop down on it. Luckily I had 20 pound Seagur on I just pulled up the branch off the bottom. Hook didn't even straigthen out. Quality gear.

Deep Creek Lake
Anyone ever fish this place? Is it worth my buying a maryland license and taking the trip from Morgantown over? I know it's a resort lake but there are a lot of backwater areas that probably don't get tore up much by boaters. I'll likely be fishing from a kayak and safety and ability to fish an area without having to paddle far to find likely fishing spots is very important.

Fishing Craziness Vids
The bullshark one scares the crap out of me. I'd never swim in the backwaters of tidal areas for that reason.

Field And Stream Eagle Talon
i actually think ill get the ascend 128t and spend a little more for a kayak that sits higher above thewater and attach trolling motor to it.

Bulking Up
aWhat exactly is your goal? to gain muscle weight? gain muscle and low body fat? increase.stamina? Crossfit isnt really muscle building, more of a fitness workout. My goal was gain muscle and lose body fat. I used optimum nutrition serious mass powder on top of regular meals to gain 20+ pounds almost two years ago. My body fat is 15%. Diet is more important than your routine. I supplement with vitamen packs and preworkouts (C4).

All lakes have it
There is a hump in one of the lakes I fish that goes from 20' to 8' on top, gradually. On top are a few stumps, brush piles and one lone standing tree trunk. The other side drops off faster into about 15'~. It's almost like a ridge but more circular. Have yet to get any hits there and pick up nothing on the sonar. The hump, in summer, is secluded from other sunken timber and vegetation (there is some milfoil that grows on the hump). This seclusion, me thinks, reduces the amount of baitfish available for the bass. Perhaps once the thick vegetation starts to receed later in the year, the baitfish will be forced out into more open water?

Jig Fishing Questions
surely though the bullet weight would be better for punching than a football head jig?

Good Starting Bass Boat Price
I was looking into some at the 8k mark. One is a '94 so relatively new. We would be better off buying now to winter than start of summer. It really goes back to what you can comfortably afford. If you want to spend 25k on your first bass boat, more power to you, if you want to spend 5k you can surely find something.

Jig Fishing Questions
When should one use a standard jig versus a shaky head jig with soft plastic versus a texas rig soft plastic with pegged bullet weight? Is it personal preference?

Field And Stream Eagle Talon
My buddy let me try out his inflatable fishing kayak. It was rough. My shoulders were killing me from paddeling and it was difficult to cast. I either had to sit crossed legged or with knees in air. It was also affected by wind easily. Please tell me I can enjoy more efficiency and comfort from a talon. Does anyone know what dick's return policy is...would like to try one out but be able to return it if I didn't like it.
