  1. Packing 24/7 my wife & I. Hit the range 1-2 a week...and have been for years!
  2. Wouldn't want to sell a half dozen or so would ya? ?
  3. Good question...that would default to somebody more experienced than me...?
  4. Yep, must be something pretty special about the jointed models. A bud of mine who use to fish semi-pro tournaments told me that even the 2 inch jointed silver/black is a straight killer in ponds for all species and the J7 is murder everywhere he tosses it within reason!?
  5. Anybody with any experience with these series? Can't find any reviews that I can translate & I've got a guy who has some for crazy close out prices. All I can see is it is floating and dives from 0.15 - 0.3ft & Amazon discontinued selling it. So these don't suspend & float back close to the surface after jerking & twitching? ????
  6. Awesome! Do you tie loop knots on all your Rapala's?
  7. Hey guys, I'm looking forward to exploring the myriad of streams & creeks that abound in my region. I remember as kid having a couple of F05 Rapala Floating Minnows...never tossed them much. Yet, later on I read I really missed out on their productivity in small bodies of water & for multi-species. My plans revolve around an ultralight to light spinning rod, spooled with 4-8lb Triliene XL. What about the jointed Rapala's? Share with me your memories, experiences, best colors, any tips on using this lure. BTW...picked these up from Ebay on the cheap a couple days ago!! Thanks, Reg
  8. I'm really diverse when it comes to KVD 1.0's! Perhaps I need counseling...
  9. Yes, I concur...I already resemble that remark! ?
  10. Geez, I forget what era we live in...I'll factor that in when I post other topics. Perhaps I should have used terms like, "a more well rounded angler, a broader skill-set, or not so one dimensional!"??
  11. What is your number 1 jerkbait?
  12. Yikes man!! That sounds akin to bondage...folks shouldn't be so easily offended...we're talking fishing here!?? Appreciate the feedback...I've got a son, grand-kids and other kinfolks in Cali!

  14. Hey guys, I've noticed that I've become very one dimensional in my bass fishing. I tend to toss my top 4-5 lures and if there are no takers, I become inpatient/ticked! My goal this season is to step out of my comfort zone and toss some lures that I normally don't, master them, and hopefully get production from them. Here are some lures and tactics I'm going to really work this season: 1. Jerk Baits, namely Lucky Craft Lightning Pointer 98XR & Flash Pointer 115 - BTW...In the Lucky Craft Pointer Jerkbaits...what size is most productive...65, 78, 100 or 115? 2. Jig & Eel around the Dams & Bass Jigs dressed with pork/plastic trailers around structure, drop-offs, and shallow water. 3. Mepps #4 & #5 Agila various colors. 4. Also going to use some old school tactics with weightless live big minnows & nightcrawlers injected with air. I'd like to get your feedback/experience/tips if you don't mind. Thanks, BTW...Lunkerhunt PHANTOM SPIDER lure---DOES IT WORK?? Reg
  15. Dressed or plain?
  16. Wife & I went for a little "field testing" yesterday. I tossed a black 1/8 oz Panther Martin for about 15 minutes, I caught a dink bass & had 2 bites. Slung the 1/4 oz #3 Mepps with squirrel tail, got a couple of swirls that was it. But, just got in a 1/3 oz #4 Mepps today brown fur/red tail. Anxious to toss it around...I may tip with half a night crawler or small minnow and see what happens.?
  17. If it becomes too complex, I'll find a different type of hook that will suffice. I'll not be bested by a baby spinner bait design!? Thanks for the feedback and advice...I know what to prepare for now.?
  18. How about adding a split ring?
  19. All my fishing career I've slung nothing but Rooster Tails as far as inline spinners are concerned. Caught a bunch of hybrids, white bass, and some decent large-mouths. Yet, after much research and a zillion threads about other choices I decided to up my game and add these little fellows!? I'm excited to sling these in Wheeler Dam tailrace and other moving water. The H&H Spinner just seems like a nifty lil lure to toss in some ponds and shallow water coves I frequent. What are you studs thoughts and experiences with these lures? Here some pics of what I nabbed/ordered today: H&H Original Spinner Lure × 2 Willow Leaf Double / #08 (White+White) $3.98 H&H Original Spinner Lure × 3 Single Spinner / #35 (Chart+Chart/White) $5.97 Mepps Aglia Dressed 1/4oz Silver/White - Mepps Aglia Dressed 1/4oz Silver/Gray - Mepps 1/3 oz Aglia Dressed Treble Hook -
  20. Great pics...and the boat is not half bad either! lol? I like what you've done...great creativity and yet practical. My greatest bass wading cove I haven't fished in 25 yrs. Here's what happened, I waltz out from wading in the 3-4 ft lily-pad/weed laden water, and to my surprise there's an old codger sitting on stump just staring at me. Never saw him walk up. As son as I exit he launches into a dissertation that "all this here water you's a wading in is cluttered with old filled in wells from long destroyed houses from before TVA pumped water back here!"? My reply is, "Er, like how many wells ya think were back here?" His reply is, "I reckon about 25 or 30 give a take 1 or 2...some of em my near 50-60 feet son!" You mess around and fall through that old timber they used to fill it in...they'll never find yo body young ?man...just be good turtle and catfish food though☠️...Better hope you know da Lawd!"? After that I haven't found it necessary to venture back there---not to mention the gators are thick as thieves as well....
  21. Hey guys, Seriously considering purchasing my first boat for primary bass & pan-fishing. 95% of the usage will be up in sloughs, backwaters, shallow flats, mostly waters less than 7-10 feet. Here is my situation, "I cannot swim, stand 6'4, 275 lbs!"? I have no problem investing in the best flotation devices, safety classes, and even swimming lessons. I've always enjoyed going out on my friends big Jon boats more than bass rigs per say. The extra room and my extra huge hooves felt mighty comfy. My budget would be around the $2500-3500 range used. What would be some good suggestions and feedback? Thanks, Reg
  22. Wow, Jimbo seems well organized. The $$$ is no problem...trying to squeeze him on the plate with the "must do" stuff just might. I appreciate the referral for sure!
  23. Hey Studs, Me & the wife are taking a few days March 25-28 to relax, meet some old friends, and fish. The area is about 3-5 miles form Buford Dam & Lake Lanier which we're both oblivious to. Would you guys who've fished it give us some tips, good spots, and some possible patterns? Well be targeting bass & pan-fish mostly. Thanks, Reg
  24. Appreciate it...I am addicted to the KVD Chartruese Sexy Shad...what are your most productive colors in the XCalibur?
