  1. Before I did anything else I would run a can of Seafoam through in to see if that may clear it up or improve it...
  2. 20lb fluro unless I'm fishing grass then I use 30lb braid
  3. Glad it is fixed and thanks for the feedback.
  4. Assuming it is running ok, you probably would not notice the difference if you changed them to NGK but I would put in NGK at the next plug change.
  5. Of course they are used the same way. When you are not sure of the size is when the metric shine. If a 15mm is to small and a 17 to large it must be 16mm. In SAE you are figuring with the fractions trying find the proper wrench. I also have both in numerous type wrench sets.
  6. Metric hand tools in mm are much easier to use than SAE fractions.......Al
  7. I agree with everyone else and those Javelins are fast boats
  8. Your question is not an easy one to answer due to the variables involved and nearly every situation is different, however generally speaking quartering the waves is the smoothest ride and one of the most wet.....
  9. I believe I would start with a compression test and I would not run it anymore. I do not hear well but that sounds serious to me. Crankshaft or rod serious and it will only get more serious($) by running it.
  10. Wow, had not heard that in a very long time
  11. Sometimes the smartest action you can take is remain quiet.
  12. For me it would be a power pole, but I flip/pitch a lot and using the trolling motor in shallow water spooks fish. Much of my fishing I don't need a depth finder. I also crappie fish during the winter, often in 10 ft of water or less, and dropping/raising an anchor is a pain.....
  13. could they be referring to the Nitro Z21. It's not a new brand but is a new boat, is it not? Just guessing.........Al
  14. If carbon is building up on the plugs it is probably building up on the pistons and head which is not good. Ask your mechanic about the results of carbon buildup. He has not told you the hold story. It can cause premature detonation when carbon gets under a piston ring.....Al
  15. Good advice. I just used electrical tape. Not urgent, but should be done fairly soon.......Al
  16. You may be putting the piano hinge in the wrong place. If you mount it on top of both pieces will it work. Not real sure I understand your problem
  17. True of any firearm. I have regrets over sold firearms.....Al
  18. Those are not legal everywhere. In Tennessee you can use them to assist tying up at a dock or when mooring but not while running on a lake. They blind other boaters with white light and are very dangerous to everyone but the user. They will get you a ticket here. Most fishermen here use handheld lights that can be switched on if you see something or think you see something and want to verify it, then switched back off. Even those are not legal but are commonly overlooked by the Wardens if used sparingly. The lakes in East Tennessee are loaded with night fishermen in the warmer months and if you turn on a light such as the one above you will cause someone to briefly loose their night vision, if they look at it, which causes danger for everyone. Pontoon boats running with their "docking lights" on are the biggest problem here because the operators think they are headlights. Wildlife Officers routinely patrol the lakes at night here looking for offenders, usually on weekends. If you use that light to navigate please use it sparingly for others safety as well as yours....My advice- If you can't see well enough at night don't venture out on the water. If it is overcast you may be safer staying home or going bowling, just saying
  19. Mine is under the console as well. Out of the way but reachable.....
  20. I agree. If I lived closer to the coast I would have one also. Other than the height issue I would say dry storage would be the biggest concern. I saw a couple at BPS last night, Mako was the brand name I believe. If storage and the height are not an issue then I would say go for it. There are boats that handle rough water pretty well you may want to consider as well, such as the multi species boats. I see you are from Texas. If you live near salt water you may want to use it in the salt some day. Something to consider. Typical bass boats do not like saltwater as a rule. And many steel trailers do not either. Just food for thought.......Al
  21. I don't care how good you are, that takes a large set of grapefruits........Al
  22. Stop by Bucks and Bass tackle shop in Dandridge the next time you put in at the bridge in Dandridge. The owner, Bucky Moulter, has flyers by the front door and he can answer your questions. There are a couple of trails that average 150 boats, or more, and a wildcat tournament at a couple of ramps nearly every night, except Sunday. The wildcats will average the numbers you mentioned. The small tackle shops will have flyers about all the trails and most of the wildcats.....All of the lakes in East Tn are the same way, Watts Bar, Ft Loudon/Tellico, Melton Hill, Cherokee and Douglas. Don't know about the lakes in upper E. Tn.........Al
