  1. Jack will be missed here but welcomed in heaven. My thoughts and prayers are with friends and family..............Al
  2. I am still having problems. Why don't I have problems with other sites? I'm not a computer guy, don't other sites upgrade? Maybe I just come here to often.........Al
  3. This is a good point. I use Smelly Jelly applied with a stick from an ice cream bar. This will lub the bait for better hooksets.
  4. Tennessee does not title boat trailers nor require a registration or a license plate...........Al
  5. I mix 1 oz per gallon. Follow the directions on the can.................Al
  6. If anyone lives near a Northern Tools Store check their price for Seafoam. The Knoxville, Tn. store sells it for $6.48 per can 16oz can. This is not a sale price, this is their regular price. The local Advanced Auto Store has matched this price for me also...........Al
  7. I rode in the same boat(20' Skeeter) with a 225 SHO this weekend at the Southern Open. There was a light chop and a lot of boat wake. The ride was not as smooth as a Champion but the boat felt as solid as a rock and very near a Champion ride quality. As for the Yamaha SHO, WOW!!! What a motor. The boat seemed to jump on plane. If you are in the market for a motor you owe it to yourself to look at this one and I would not hesitate to buy a Skeeter either. Rode well, handled very well....Al
  8. Sam I used Trilene XL for 20 years or so until a friend suggested (strongly) that I try Suffix Elite. Glad I did. I now use Suffix Elite for all moving baits. Suggest you give it a try as a replacement for Trilene XL. I believe you will be glad you did...........Al
  9. I have been using it in my 225 Yamaha for about 2 years. Prior to Seafoam I was using a Yamaha product called Ringfree.................Al
  10. You are spoiled for life. There isn't a better riding bassboat on the water. I hope it serves you well....Al
  11. If you want info on Tn lakes google TVA Lakes or Tennessee Valley Authority Lakes. We have four seasons including cold winters but very little snow. In East Tn I don't think it is possible to be over 30 min from a major body of water..........Al
  12. Frankly, I believe they are a bit expensive but with my discount, not so much. If I were going to pay that much I would look for Deka's or Trojan. If you do a search you will find info on what to look for in a battery................Al
  13. I am a part time employee of BPS so I buy their group 27 deep cycle(good discount). There are better batteries, Trojan and Deka come to mind. The life of the battery will be determined by the quality of the battery charger. This is another topic altogether, I recommend you do a search. There have been many discussions about batteries and chargers and Way2slow is the battery/charger guru........Al
  14. I fish all day and normally have over 50% left on batteries. Fished Santee-Cooper last month all day for 6 days in wind 5-20 mph without a problem, charging at night. If your batteries are good you should not have a problem..........Al
  15. I replace with Owner 2x as well....................Al
  16. I like synthetic oil also and a lot of people rave about the synthetic Pennzoil. As a general rule they lube better and burn cleaner...........Al
  17. I bought one about 3 yrs ago and haven't had any problems with it at all. The direction arrow atop the head does not light up so if you fish at night this may be a problem. I also did not use the mount that came with it, I used a tour mount that was already on my boat.................Al
  18. I like to flip/pitch to heavy cover and it's been my experience that lizards, brush hogs and even many worms have to many tails, arms, legs etc. to get through the brush consistently. They frequently hang up on the way to the bottom which waste a cast usually. Although I have had them hammered when jerked free of a branch. My usual flipping/pitching bait is a jig/chunk or a beaver type bait. These baits seem to penetrate brush or laydowns much better for me.........Al
  19. Oil bath hubs have been around for years in the trucking industry and even on train cars but only a few years on boat trailers. I do not have them but if I were in the market for a new trailer I would get them. I have several friends with them and have heard of only one problem. A seal leaked out some of the oil when it was new but a new seal corrected that problem. The owner said he would never go back to grease, this is after 3-4 yrs of use. All of the high end boat builders are now using them and I would not be afraid of them at all.....Al
  20. If you think their spinnerbait is bad try their counter rotating buzzbait, no don't really. In my experience they are a waste of good money..................Al
  21. It's a Ford Vs Chevy thing, which is best? However, it is a good practice to run the plug that was original equipment for your outboard.
  22. As long as the plugs are gapped the same they should spark the same. When you talk of the "flat end and threaded end", I assume you are talking about the end that attaches to the spark plug wire. If the new plugs did not come with a flat end, unscrew the flat end from the old plugs and screw onto the new plugs. Did you gap the new plugs? If anyone can explain this better, jump in please...
  23. \ Fresh or saltwater? Take a submarine through the Panama canal you learn quickly fresh water and saltwater do not weigh the same.......But you are correct with fresh water....Al
  24. Haven't spent much time on a submarine have you?............Al
  25. There should be a sticker on the trailer near the front that will tell you who manufactured the trailer. Contact them for parts info. If it is UFP google Unique Function Products, if anyone else google Northern Industrial Tools. One or both will have the parts you need........Al
