  1. I fished two years as a non boater, love hate relationship. I had one guy flipping docks literally would pull up, drop the poles, hit every single piece of the dock and rush to next spot. I got one fish I flipped a senko, opened the bail, let about 40 yards of line out so it could bake, and caught a 4lbser. It was rainy mud stained and cold water. He won the tourney with 19 lbs. I tried everything bit I learned so much I fished a tourney this year and now I know how to fish that type of water and learned from him. One thing I hate is docks and isolated rock pikes and the boat is pointed directly at the spot so I can't fish. Then they turn they're screen off on the electronics so I don't even know the depth, bottom contours, or of there's grass till I bury a crank or drop shot in it. I'm going boater next year. My best tourney as non boater I placed 3rd over all against the boaters and it's because my boater worked with me. He got 2nd i got 3rd. My club format puts boaters against non boaters so I'm basically paying to fish in someone's boat....
  2. 55 gallon seems to small... I had a 225 gallon home made and had 2 largemouth in it and it still seemed go small. I think a 125 for a couple bluegill would be ok. 55gallon to small, also bluegills tend to school so a lone bluegill would be stressed.
  3. Went out on Cayuga caught good number but all small fish best 5 weighed 10lbs... winning weight was 19 lbs flipping docks all day.... couldn't get them to eat a jig, creature, or swimbait, only thing was a senko with 1/16th Oz unpegged weight. Wacky on the weeds. No wind at all either. Watched my boater find a school and catch 10 2lbsers all in 10 casts lol
  4. I've caught 5s and minnows on a senko, perch, crappie, sunfish, and a turtle. It's just a numbers bait for me. Or last ditch haha.
  5. I believe in they don't associate line visibility with danger but sometimes I feel as of it doesn't give the right presentation such as, what's this long yellow thing on my food, just enough to where the bass might be a little shy, specially on pressured waters.
  6. Shallow water anchor, drift paddles are awesome.
  7. when the hydraulic line springs a leak and some gets sucked in the live well intake during rough water.....enough to kill my 1 lbs I couldn't cull and lose a tourney. But I still prefer power poles. BTW I was a Co angler, on someone else's boat. The talons get in the way to bulky for my likes.
  8. Went out on Seneca lake, hit the canal system to Cayuga numbers were there caught one 4.76 lbs under a dock. Weeds ate super thick and there's a good east current, enough where the trolling motor was only used to keep the bow pointed in the right direction
  9. Haha, a rig works well compiled with the hydrowave, drop shot, jerkbaits, flutter spoons and swim baits!
  10. Nothing moves like senko in my opinion. If course only time I use them is to fill a bag quick. Or in a pinch. Kinda my fall back lure. I can always skip docks with a senko and catch 5.
  11. Love to skip jigs or throw a square bill in the spring, up here there's so much weeds it's hard to use a crank in the summer/fall. I like the pit boss on a 1/2 oz.the jig I'll flip and skip and then swim back
  12. These are outdated haha I needed them
  13. You know your stuff !!!
  14. Awesome definitely going to pick them up then.
  15. I've got guy selling 2 597ci di for $300 for the pair, seems like a good deal, very trusted guy, I want to run one on the bow, and one off the console. What I figure they're not linkable but I heard I can move way points via SD cards? Any thoughts and opinions on these ?
  16. Lunchables! And monster in the morning and water through the day
  17. I just picked up locks for everything today. 26 bucks is cheaper than a list boat on chains.
  18. Hmmmmm, I'd rather be able to just make a way point and link to my other one off the bow....I'm going to go inquire at bps, maybe a guy there can help me out.
  19. Guess I'm going with Lowrances then, they're linkable lol.
  20. I was looking at the Lowrance elite 4s for 300$ and saw they were able to be linked but I'm leaning towards humminbird but I don't think I can share way points off the bow vs driving seat. Anyone got some insight?
  21. Came back fishing, grabbed the truck and trailer, went to double check the hitch like I aways do.....someone stole my hitch Lin because my hitch was locked the trailor...luckily I had some bolts and nuts for an emergency but that could of ended badly if I didn't check it.
  22. Winter is my break, lakes freeze up around November and thaw around March/april.
  23. It's illegal I think in NY to return gobies back to water. You're supposed to keep them. Either cut it up for cat fish bait, or fertilizer.
  24. I only will accept 20-25 bucks, or lunch and water. =) and I fished last year as a Co angler and half of this year as a Co angler the other half as a boater. Oh yeah and no more than 6 rods and bag that hold 3 3700 boxes and rain gear. Maybe a small bag for all your plastics.
