I recently got into swim baiting, still no luck using a shaky head, I wanna try out the new Berkley pit boss skeet reese design, and gonna venture more into tubes, I like the idea of scatter rap, but haven't caught anything other than pike on them, the rapala shadow rap I love. Also the underspin worked worked for me on pre spawn cold water. I kinda wanna tried the knew giant square bill kvd launched. Think it was like 3.0 xd or something.

Yes, I walk through boat docks that have the problems of floating sparse weeds, thr frog skips well, also sometimes around blue gill beds walk it almost in spot and wait for a biggen thinking it's a wounded gill....

I almost got skunked on conesus.....first time ever...... went to a couple of my spots and saw blue guild beds, tried throwing a swim jig and nothing would bite just follow it in, thought the bright light was giving it away with clear water so went to the north end to flip some grass....not even a bite, jigs, beavers craws....nothing so I went to plan b and flipped docks and skipped Senkos and salvaged the day but jees, why was it so tough.

Love punching matts in duck weed infested waters, and I have to use a punching skirt.1/2 oz or larger up to 1 1/2 pegged tungsten.

Hate carp.....I love seeing them swim under the boat with down scan.....one or I snag one with 6lbs test throwing a super light rapala balsa.......snap.

I also was thinking the canal caught some largemouth there. And it it's really windy through in 5 footers I'll stay north not making any far runs....

I hate this lake, haha its gonna be so tough for my tourney end of June lol, everyone's gonna be in my spot cause its the only productive spot on the lake.

I was inquiring about seneca lake, in nys, need some help digesting this huge deep water lake.

Does anybody fish seneca lake? If so we need to have a serious talk. =) nothing bad.

We always get yelled at by pleasure boaters for taking over the launch. I have a couple good spots on conesus that just produce. I drag a carolina rig with a crankbait with it suspended by a bobber through the grass, long lining it.

Sounds like 2lbser for the win. Tva lakes find off shore structure!!! Also prefishing and finding fish is a must!!!

15 feet doesn't seem he's trolling seems hrs just repositioning the boat moving the rod to keep the bait active, should the reel of been disengaged or free spooled, yes I feel, did it hurt? Most likely not. I would of just asked for clarification at the end of the day.

I started horribly barely able to use casting gear. Got in some pretty god boats, one day we fishing cayuga with a friend who won the open on Oneida last year, and we hit some black muddy water and he was catching sizeable fish. I couldn't catch anything, 2 inches of visibility max. I literally put my rod down and watched, learned and asked questions between structure and cover. He actually got me to catch one when he was culling telling me to keen on reaction bites. Totally new idea to me at the time, tbis year though I'm doing great! Just stick it out, as soon as your day makes you mad you're not catching fish, or doing well you gotta sit back and relax and go hey, atleast I'm not working today

I would side scan and then map promising spots see if it holds fish, study contour maps and find good ledges, bumps, brush piles etc. Definitely figure out if its gonna be won shallow or deep, I've seen tourneys where both is good. Don't totally commit on offshore, you have to atleast check on shallow cover. If np side scan at least run some down imaging. I've spent a day with a buddy side scanning up in lake ontario didn't even cast a lure, just find good structure mark it, then fish it the next day.

I bought the 4 with chirp as well with out chart plotting, wish I would of spent the extra 100.

Where do you live, I have a boat 18 foot nitro and will be previewing Oneida alot.

I've got 2, haven't caught anything with them yet.
