  1. I own 2 okuma trio high speed spinng reels. These reels are amazingly smooth and can handle 30 pound kings. (From personal experience) you can get the reel for 55$ on walmart online, that's where I got it from. You should definetly keep this reel on your list.
  2. I would definetly try to invest in an inflatable boat. I actually just picked up an intex challenger k2. They have decent boats for a great price. For 100$ you can atleast get out on the water. You can also get a sea eagle boat that you can stand in. I also fish a strip mine that is very early fished and can only be fished from one shore and found out when on my friends sea eagle we pick up the giants on the other side of the lake.
  3. I also fish small ponds and to increase the numbers of fish I catch I downsize even more than most of you would. I actually fish a BPS crappie sized 3 inch senko on 6-8 pound flourocarbon. I can catch a ton of fish, but most of them aren't of any size. But when you fight them on light line it is still fun. It is even more fun when you get the 2-3 pounders hitting them. I used to be skeptical that the 3 inchers wouldn't have enough action but boy was I wrong, and plus these ones are $3.29 for 16, a fraction of what you would pay for yamamotos.
  4. I was fishing about the same conditions last night, the water might have been a degree or two warmer though. Slayed them on a spook. Man is that a great way to catch them at night.
  5. I actually picked up a bag of this color because it resembled my favorite color senko, sunfish laminate. I out fish green flash with these five inch wonders all day long. I only catch with this color when fishing tournaments in a highly fished area and am the only person catching. But instead of paying $7.29 for 10 worms, I get a ton more of the off brand worms on eBay. Sunfish laminates, they are a little like the green flash. Try them out, they work out anywhere the main bait fish for bass is a sunfish or bluegill.
