Any Pelican Bass Raider Owners Out There?
I use a converted double Sea-Doo trailer. I use a rope attached to a front handle to pull the boat onto the trailer and then tie it off to the trailer till I get to the "make ready for travel" area. I have some pics of it earlier in this thread. I have friend who uses a flat bed trailer and he basically does the same thing.

Any Pelican Bass Raider Owners Out There?
It is true that you can get blown around in the wind trying to fish a spot. I have a small anchor that the son puts out if we feel the need. We have actually only used it once though. Might be because of its "convenience". I imagine the micro power pole would indeed get more use but I cannot see spending as much on it as the boat itself cost (for myself). As far as a rudder goes, I made one out of pvc pipe and its best asset is when we are under power, not much help when fishing a spot. still gonna get blown around. It might has helped with the "sailboating " (blowing in circles) a little but its main advantage is the straight line it can help keep when under power. I am still in search of a broken transom mount trolling motor to convert to a rudder that can be tilted, lowered and raised by just using its built in functions. The mount is mostly what i am after.

Any Pelican Bass Raider Owners Out There?
Thanks. We do not have winds like that here, at least not without a hurricane or tornado blowing thru. The sun can be brutal though, which is why I want to put a hardtop up and not just a cover/tarp. The elastic would be nice so i wouldn't have to use giant clips on tarp. Been there, done that.

Any Pelican Bass Raider Owners Out There?
I am just storing mine upside down on its trailer. I have been covering it with a tarp but they keep getting sun damaged. I store the seats in my shed. I am going to build a little tin top shed to get it covered and then also purchase a new cover that has the elastic around the bottom. the shed should keep it from getting sun damaged and the seats will be left in it to hold the cover up so moisture will not collect in the middle.

Any Pelican Bass Raider Owners Out There?
Hello all, finally got my trailer project done for my 10' raider. I purchased a dual seadoo trailer that was not in running order and converted it to use with my raider, "The Fred". Seadoo trailers are hard to come by and i noticed this one and a single one day while fishing our lake. When we got done I drove around to where the trailer was and asked about purchasing it. After about a month I finally got the owner and since he was only willing to part with the dual trailer, that is what I got. I had been looking for a couple of months up till then. I believe a single would be slightly more comfortable to deal woth but i like the idea of being able to strap stuff to the "sideboards" of the dual trailer. Had to replace the hubs and wheels, sanded and painted, new lights and new safety chains. Also reused and painted the existing hardware to use for the new oversized bunks which I made and carpeted myself. This is after sanding and painting - thanks to a neighbor who painted it for me. This is after I added the bunks and was trying it on for size. This is after adding the sideboards which may hold a box eventually to hold "stuff" when we are traveling. This is my complete trailer. Another angle. Time to load her up! Now I just need to get my rudder made.

Question About Fishing Line.
I use Trilene #10 for all my bass fishing needs. Fishing out of a kayak I imagine that amount of rods you are able to carry would be a concern as I myself fish out of a two man boat. I limit myself to 3 rods in it(my son is usually with me, 4 if I am alone) and one of those is usually a crappie rig(6 pound test line). I fish grass beds and riprap with no problems. As I heard Hank Parker say once "re-tie often". I check my line several times a day, especially around grass, if I find a nick I do not hesitate to re-tie. I also fish topwaters with it, usually a zara puppy. I don't set the hook till I actually feel the fish. I have fished a frog or two in grass and weeds without problems also. Just have to be prepared to "go in after them" if they do get themselves buried. Sometimes havce to just go get my bait back if it gets hung up. And yes, I have had my line break at times when I did not think it was a hard hook set. That's just the chance I am willing to take. As far as your worm rig, I usually fish with a hook size no bigger than a #2 worm hook and a worm around the 6-7" size. During my use of the worm and it's "wearing out" I can pinch off a little of the head and end up with a smaller size. Color would be dictated by clarity of water. Lighter colors for clearer water, darker for the more cloudy it is. For us right now we seem to be doing well with a 6" Zoom watermelon/pumpkin seed worm. I use the smallest weight I can get away with for the conditions I am fishing. The wind usually dictates what weight I use and also the type of rod and reel I use(normally a baitcaster).

Adjusting Internal Cast Controls
Yes, that does look simple enough and keeps the reel looking clean by it being on the inside of the cover. I am available to give my opinion on its simplicity to adjust the controls. Just send me a message so I can give the address to where you can send the reel. JK.

Hello From Deatsville Alabama
Hi Everyone, New member here. Found this site when looking into getting a bass raider 10e 2 man boat. Enjoyed the heck out of that main thread for it and got lots of good information/advice from it. My son (soon to be 13) and I have gotten more use out of our raider(The Fred, in honor of my fishing buddy who was killed in a boating accident shortly after I got it) in the 3 months we have had it than we got out of the bass boat in a whole summer. We like ponds mostly but have been branching out into our river systems here and fishing as far out from the boat ramps as we can on our trolling motored boat. we are learning our limits a little at a time and it has been fun and addictive. I have been fishing most of my 46 years off and on, mostly on. My son would be on the water about everyday if he could. We like fishing for bass, bream, crappie and catfish. My fishing buddy introduced me to redfishing a few years ago and we went about every year until his passing. My son got to go on the last trip which was his first.
