  1. i guess I should try it and call it summer fishing last resort.
  2. I bank fish small ponds and it's not not deep at all. And i live in NC. Water almost boiling during the summer. I was using 2" grubs and minnows. As well as bread, sausage, nightcrowlers, etc.
  3. Okay, went fishing today. I used worms and a bunch of soft plastics. Not even a single bite within 8hrs! Any ideas?
  4. BTW, did you try night fishing? It seems to be an option. Just give it a try.
  5. It's summer and it's hot. Try to go deeper and fish structures with the drop shot or carolina rig. Work it slow. IMHO crankbaits and spinnerbaits have a little to much action for such a hot weather.
  6. How to fish that thing? Like a regular jig or just cast and shake it?
  7. Hi. We have several pond with murky water around the area I live. I've been catching bluegill/sunfish/panfish in June, but not nothing bites. Any advice on tackle, rig, bait, location, etc., would be appreciated. P.S. I use black chartreuse grub with gold sparkles, red/chartreuse tubes, small artificial minnows (kind of like the fluke) - everithing is 1 1/2 inch. Some times I rig it with split shot, sometimes with jig or spinnerbait. And also I've tried powerbait.
  8. Last time I was fishing I used junebug trick worm on carolina rig. I worked it so slow that almost fell a sleep and still didn't get a single bite. EmersonFish, what trailer do you use for your shaky head?
  9. It seems to be the only solution. Thanks to everyone. P.s. I almost believed I'm a bad fisherman
  10. Will any other fish bite during these dog days or it doesn't make any sense to fish during the summer?
  11. and this is a problem because there is no weed nor near the shore neither somwhere also. Occasionlly I can find some underwater weeds ( not a lot). What we do have here are trees, stumps and a bunch of small islands. I did fish all the trees but as I said earlier, last two - three weeks no bites. The only fish I cought was a single bowfin. BTW, could those gars spook the bass?
  12. Thanks guys. The water is always murky (more or less). How to adjust for the summer pattern for bass?
  13. Hi. I'm international student in NC. I do bank fishing. Usually, I don't have problems catching fish but for last two or three weeks I can't catch anything. Not even a single bite. Not even pan fish, bowfin, or anything else. I use junebug, watermelons /red flake lizards, smoky shad fluke, red/yellow spinnerbaits, white buzzbait. Nothing works. Same baits I used earlier with no problem. But I can see a longnose gar activity out on the pond. The water is between murky/greenish/muddy. I don't know the depth but it is not deep at all. May be up to 10 feet, which I doubt. What is the cause of the luck of biting fish? How to manage that? Thanks.
