  1. I have two rods I use for this technique, a 6'10" MH XF and a 7'3" MH F. I actually prefer the 6'10" more. Much easier to skip under laydowns and docks
  2. Rods: kistler, shimano, field and stream Reels: shimano and cabelas
  3. That is the same line I use for a lot of my set ups, anywhere from 10-17 lb and absolutely love it, but to answer your question... 1. 10 lb for jerkbaits most of the time (especially in the spring when the water is cold) 2. I don't use a specific type of backing, just whatever was left in the spool (co Polly is cheap enough as it is) 3. I usually use a palomar knot or an improved clinch knot
  4. 10 lb flouro for jerkbaits, 15 lb mono for top waters. If you can only have one setup I would go with 12 co polly, either McCoy mean green or izorline xxx.
  5. I use a 7ft M/F for all my finesse techniques
  6. I would take a look at this thread below. RW does it right! http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/130634-rod-selection-the-basics/
  7. Thank you everyone for your input...I might have to look into picking up a Dobyns in the new future
  8. Great review as well. I have a couple Magnesium's TS and LOVE them and have been really considering purchasing a KLX or Carbon Steel to see how they compare.
  9. Thanks for the responses, I wasn't sure if there are any specific rods for that technique that you would recommend (brand and model) that performs great and balances well with a Chronarch E on it?
  10. Hello everyone, as the weather starts to cool down and I am starting to re-evaluate my arsenal already for next year. I am looking to get a new pitching/flipping rod to pair up with my shimano Chronarch 200E7 with 15-20 lb flouro. I plan on using it for jigs mostly (3/8-1/2 oz) and possibly some t-rigs ing the same range. I fish usualy light to moderate cover, mostly lay downs and light grass. I am not partial to brands and have a budget of $250. So hit me with you best shot on what type of rod to get!! All responses are much appreciate! Thanks in advance!!
  11. Usually 1/4 oz for the lakes I fish
  12. Lucky Craft pointers can be found on eBay for around $10...
  13. Mainline to leader: Double Uni Mono/Fluoro to lure: Palomar Braid to lure: Double Palomar
  14. Thank you, since you have owned both, is there anything in which the the Chronarch performs above and beyond the curado, for example throwing finess/light baits, etc
  15. As the title states, which one is the best bang for the buck. Is the Chronarch really worth the extra money, and if so, what does the Chronarch exel at better than the new curado. Thanks in advance!!
  16. Berkley lighting rod shock 7ft med. $40, Shimano Sienna 2500FD $30, 8lb Seaguar Invisix $15 Can't be beaten for the price IMO....Very versatile finesse setup
  17. Thank you, I heard it increased distance just wasn't sure for what type of techniques... Light it is!
