St. Croix Rage Rod (1St One Snapped, Second Creaks)
I didn't say they were bad rods, they're sensitive and have great action. Compared to other sticks however theyre pretty heavy. The new Avid X's look great, the regular avids were nice (got to use a relatives for a day) just not impressed by the way the LTB feels and that's considered a "high end" rod.

St. Croix Rage Rod (1St One Snapped, Second Creaks)
I only own premiers and a Mojo so I can't speak for the high end sticks, however I was playing around with rods at cabelas and putting reels on some LTBs and was pretty disappointed with balance and overall weight. I've switched to Powell Rods and think for the money they're absolutely amazing.

St. Croix Rage Rod (1St One Snapped, Second Creaks)
I stopped buying st croixs. They're heavy rods and for the money there are better rods. That being said I still do fish with my st Croix rods, just won't be buying more.

Just Ordered My First Powell Rods!
I think they will, my 723 feels a little soft but it should be fine!

Just Ordered My First Powell Rods!
Well, just openeded them up and threw some reels on them and all I can say is wow. These rods are beyond light. The graphics of the inferno are pretty sweet looking too, the Max 3D is also sweet, doesn't look as cool as the inferno. But it should perform better. Both rods are built perfectly, no sign of bad epoxy or crooked guides. Now I need some more money so I can get an inferno spinning rod!

Centrifugal Braking
Anyone know if the Bb-1 Pro is worth the money over the Bb-1?

Centrifugal Braking
I've got a pretty good thumb, stayed away from Cent brakes for a while just because I didnt want to mess with something new, but a lot of newer high end reels are using cent brakes.

What To Use On My Rod Leftover?
6' 6" Mf is a very versatile rod. I fish just about every reaction bait on it (aside from cranks) there's just something about the short rod that I love.

Centrifugal Braking
Football jig fishing, am I better off just getting a reel with magnetic brakes or do the cent brakes give me more casting distance.
-
Centrifugal Braking
Looking at getting a Lews Bb-1 for fishing football jigs deep. From what I'm reading online these reels have great casting distance. How hard are these brakes to set? Dont want to get something sometbe disappointed with in a month.
