Then I might go for the 300 size. Line wise, 20 or maybe even 30 pound braid with fluro/mono leaders.

What techniques? Shaky head, Wacky rigging? As for suggestions I'm a fan of the Lews spinning reels. 200 or 300 would be ideal, I'd probably go for the 200. There are multiple models, the $40 one is bang for your buck. Good smooth drag and a 10 bearing system.

I feel like it almost acts like sunglasses when underwater. When the sun hits clear line it gives off a glare under the water. The smoke mutes it a bit. Same concept with green line.

Stradic would be my choice. Drag is super smooth. And I like the looks of the stradic.
