  1. oh wow, my buddy fishes an Okuma Aventa rod and it's a 13' 6" and it has like no back bone
  2. couldn't imagine how Wippy a 15 foot rod would be!
  3. I use my Mojo Bass Spinnerbait rod for Texas rigs and jigs. Thing is such a broom stick I could shoot some pool with it.
  4. im having troubles deciding, one place I fish is pretty tight every where else is nice and open, still thinking the 13'
  5. Centerpinning is to get a long efficient drift for steelhead fishing with a float, the centerpin spins backwards with the current letting line off of the reel with zero drag. There are a lot of videos out there, I'd suggest checking out the Consumate Sporstman. They make some great videos.
  6. do you use a 13 foot stick or 11?
  7. always looks cool when people run multiple colored lines.
  8. the 13 foot.
  9. thats what I've heard, I got a few buddies that pin, might do the two different colored lines becuase it looks pretty cool haha
  10. I live about ten minutes away from three different river's so i'm pretty lucky!
  11. I'm in Wisconsin so I've got some top notch steelhead fishing from now till March!
  12. Better floats, I fish some pretty big runs.
  13. Looking into getting a centerpin, I think i'm going to get a Okuma Aventa. Seems like the best deal for a beginner, and probably going to get a Shimano Clarus Pin rod. Anyone have experience with Aventa's? Feel free to post any pictures of your Pin and some Chrome, i like pictures
  14. I understand buying American but you gotta give other countries some credit, I have never had a problem with Chinese built rods.
  15. that's what I'm hearing! If I can get A quality American made rod for $100 I'm all for it
  16. I've held the rods before, I prefer no fore grip but like the one on my premier.
  17. Looking to pick up one of these over winter as a jig rod, how the sensitivity? Looking to maybe try another brand, still have an old Fenwick HMX and I was pleased with it.
  18. I lean towards full cork but, not too big of a fan of the rather large fore grip on the Avid
  19. I agree completely, if I get an Avid, would it be better to get an Avid X right away, you guys have me convinced!
  20. Being only 15, and getting all the money myself it takes a LONG time to save up, it's tough spending that much money when I could get almost two rods for the price of one. The biggest problem with getting one is I'll want to replace my whole line up with them!
  21. I now own three St. Croix rods, two Mojo bass and a premier, both series have treated me amazing and the sensitivity is great, but is it worth the money to get an Avid or LTB?
  22. 3/8 ounce strike king finesse spinnerbait has been my best reaction bait, and these home made finesse jigs I make have been doing great.
  23. I love a short rod for spinnerbaits, I use a 6' 6" M St Croix Premier with a Speed Spool 6:4:1 and love it, the premier has a semi soft tip so it's great for reaction baits imo
