  1. Top Water seems to be a main use for mono from what I can tell.
  2. What are some of the best ways to utilize monofilament line, 6-20 lb test, in bass fishing? (Lure Type, Rod Type, Casting/Spinning, etc.) Thanks, Rick
  3. Hey Bass Resource, I have noticed that my soft plastic lizard baits tend to retrieve in upside down, which is decidedly noticeable on lizards that have a different color belly than the rest of the lure. I have tried tying the hook on different ways and using different weights to no avail. Has anyone else expereiced this, and what is the solution to remedy the issue?
  4. Just as the title says, what reel would you pair with a 7' M/F Johnny Morris Carbonlite CL Trigger Rod?
  5. Or you could always just wash your hands, and I do not saltwater fish regularly while the only salmon I will start fishing more are in Lake Michigan
  6. ING, have you tried any fish attractants sprayed right onto the bucktail. I have a garlic firsh attractant spray that is heavily overpowering that you may want to look into in order to cover that smell that you speak of. And I know how to do it already, I am just asking if others here do it as well.
  7. Hey Guys, There was a huge outpouring of responses to this forum topic, it seems everybody has something that they are keeping a keen eye on this winter.
  8. Sure, well I ask becuase that is what I have readily on hand for the reels this offseason. Thanks for the reply DVT
  9. Rubber Smell? This is a forum post about dressing treble hooks with BUCKTAIL Also, the further tangent you go out into is incomprehensible and useless for this conversation. All of your questions on the "rubber smell" on whatever you are referring to can be found through further online research, not on a forum post about dressing treble hooks with BUCKTAIL
  10. Thanks for the answers guys, I have cleaned and lubed my reels for the past year now in order to service them, however I wanted to make sure that I was doing it the right way. And yes, I do use a schematic and even follow a video of the reel being taken apart and cleaned and lubed if possible. I also do make sure to take a bunch of pictures while disassembling and also even taking video if needed. Good to hear(well read) that I am doing things properly.
  11. How is the abu garcia oil and grease to service reels?
  12. What is it that you guys use to clean the inside of your reels?(Be it isopropyl alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, real magic, wd-40, etc.)
  13. Just as the title says, what brand lube and grease do you guys use for servicing your reels?
  14. Hey Guys, What is it that you guys do to clean up this inside of your reels before you then oil and lube the moving parts? Also, generally speaking, what is it that you guys make sure to hit when oiling and lubing? I am about to start taking apart my reels and cleaning and re-oiling and re-lubing the moving parts for them to sit during the winter.
  15. No, I did not order this spring(1128340), because I was told that I needed a different part by customer service months ago. But through my own research I have come to belive that this is indeed the part I need.
  16. Hey Bass Resource, I need a little help trying to identify the part that I need replaced in my Mitchell 308xge reel. This is the reel opened up to reveal the parts which this spring attaches to in order to engage the anti-reverse. The spring attaches the anti-reverse lever to the one way clutch bearing in the reel. This is the stretched out spring that I need to replace but cannot seem to find enough information about after months of searching. This is a link to the Mitchell 308xge reel schematics: http://www.mikesreelrepair.com/schematics/albums/userpics/10001/Mitchell_300XE2C_300XGE2C_308XE2C_308XGE.pdf Any help on the subject would be much appreciated. I realize I started another topic about this but it would not let me delete the other one or even add the pictures to the post.
  17. See that is more of what I am talking about Wisconsin Heat with all of those modifications. I also severely agree with the premise of your quote, here in Chicago this cold pretty much ended all fishing about a little over a week ago. And ice fishing just is not my thing.
  18. Hey Bass Resource, I seem to read a lot of mixed reviews on these reels, from your experiences with these reels how would you rate their quality overall for general bass fishing? (Multiple kinds of lures)
  19. Wow, almost 500 views with very few answers, I guess there are not that many people out there that dress their own treble hooks or single hooks with bucktail and flashaboo.
  20. Just as the title says, what reel, be it baitcaster or spinning, is it that you guys are looking to GRAB up during this offseason?
  21. Hey by the way Brian, You should look into those o-ring type things to slip on the worms if you fish worms. Honestly I have caught 10 or more bass on wacky worms and they are still in perfect working condition without noticeable wear and tear,
