  1. Buddy, the fish you catch are as big as you are! Well done!
  2. I've been wanting to head to Ida lately...
  3. Definitely bonita. It's a good fight and all, but when I'm on the ocean, I want to catch fish I can actually eat.
  4. Well done! It sounds like you've got them dialed in!
  5. ThaNKS George! Are you going to make it?
  6. Yeah, this'll be hard for you northern guys to understand, but we're having a lot of trouble enticing the fish to bite ever since the water got this cold. It's been a real struggle patterning these fish...
  7. Now that's a beautiful fish! Nice job!
  8. What are the differences/benefits of mechanical brakes vs magnetic brakes?
  9. Yeah, before my sister died she picked it out for her funeral. I have trouble listening to it- my eyes well up when I do. Beautiful song.
  10. If anyone wants to get together. I'm staying at the in-laws moutain house at Wintergreen from next Tuesday until the Monday after that if anyone is in the area.
  11. Alright, I'd like to get a new baitcaster soon. Right now, all I have is an older Shimano Curado that New2Bass is letting me borrow, plus a BPS megacast combo. As BassnBlvd can attest, I still have backlash issues (especially with lightweight lures and wind) so I need something that can help with that. I'd like to keep the cost to under $150. I also need a LEFT HAND RETRIEVE, right hand not optional. I plan on using it for spinnerbaits and crankbaits, so I'm thinking I'll need a faster ratio. This will be my first major reel purchase, so I'd really appreciate any advice you guys could help me with. Thanks always, Jason
  12. HAHAHA. I took the wife with me to Bass Pro Shops. Of course, I didn't drop $350 either. ;D
  13. So that's the new toy you got today...
  14. Rene, that's Sunday, DECEMBER 16th, not tomorrow.
  15. typically we just beat the bank (it's easier to get to the beer and grill)
  16. That's right, kids. We're back at it for the last get together of 2007. Sunday, Decmber 16th at Okeeheelee Park in West Palm Beach. 11:00 am. Guys, we'll be doing some grilling, some drinking, and some fishing. Also, in the spirit of Christmas, let's bring one lure or package of lures (i.e. bag of worms) to exchange in a pot luck event. Please post here if you plan to attend and also what food or drink you want to bring. Email me with any questions. See ya there! Jason
  17. Yeah, I know. Doug's baby is due in March so we're both trying to get in as much as we can now. Thankfully, we live in Florida so we can fish the entire winter. ;D
  18. No, I caught it on a Yozuri minnow and it had 4 hooks into it. By the time I got them all out, I just wanted to get the fish in the water. It wasn't that big anyway, only about 11 inches, if that. I'll get a bigger one soon enough.
  19. rattlin rapalas
  20. I have and I've pulled fish out of there. But there is no ramp there.
  21. Congrats! He's beautiful!
  22. So I decided to play hookey on Tuesday and called Bassn Blvd. He was off so we headed out to Lake Osbourne. We managed to find a few fish, as well as get my first peacock bass. Here are some pics. Doug in action: First bass of the day: A "foot long" bass: My last bass of the day, a 3 pounder: And here is an iguana, of which we saw about 10:
