Catfishing in southeast FL
I've been looking myself, BK. The best thing I can tell you is to work the canals near the locks. I have had limited success on the up and down current sides of the locks. Since I don't have a boat, however, I am confined to bank beating. I did get this decent channel at a local park on a ratl'n rapala, though:

I'd love to, but they are in Kentucky and I am in West Palm Beach. And as we all know, I DON'T go to Kentucky (unless I absolutely have to).

I think this stuff is kinda cool, so I decided to post some pics of some that my mom has been making: I would get some from her, but we are currently engaged in a "you visit, not you come visit" war.

BILLY GILLISPIE NEW COACH AT KENTUCKY
It looks like you're going to keep your recruits, so that's good. If memory serves, you have a MONSTER center coming in by the name of Deandre Jordan. Really great catch for you. Turgeon is a good coach, and hopefully you'll continue to have success. BTW, what do the Aggie fans think about Billy Clyde leaving?

BILLY GILLISPIE NEW COACH AT KENTUCKY
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! Mom made a funny! ;D (This is where I get uncannily arrogant) I respect all opinions on the website, however, you've got to be crazy to think that Kentucky won't be back winning national championships. We're the most storied program in the history of college basketball. We've had a couple down years, but now there is an excitement in the air once again! Tubby is gone and I'm glad. Great man; I think he'll do well at a lesser program like Minnesota. Do not underestimate the fans that make up the Big Blue Nation. Yes, we have lofty expectations, but that comes from years and years of winning. Other programs and only hope to replicate our success. Pearl is doing nice things and Knoxville and Billy D is establishing a good program in Gainesville, but two titles do not a dynasty make. Face it- Kentucky has been, is now, and shall always be the standard bearer in the SEC. So before we start writing off my boys in Lexington, let's just remember a couple numbers- 7 National Titles 13 Final Fours- 43 SEC Titles 25 SEC Tournament Titles and oh yeah, more wins THAN ANYONE ELSE IN BASKETBALL Be careful fellas, cause the Holy Roman Empire of College Basketball is about to rise again!

My crazy Mom and Aunt in KY
Since I still have to show her how to use photobucket, here are some pics of Niksfishinmom and my aunt with some fish from Kentucky Lake yesterday: a nice bluegrass bass: my aunt Diana holding what presumably will end up in a fryer: and some more Kentucky Lake crappies as well: Hope you enjoy! Maybe Mom will get on here and tell ya how she caught them.

Okay, these are NOT my pics, but pics of Niksfishinmom on Kentucky Lake last Sunday. I'll let her fill you in on how she caught them, but I even threw in a pic of some elk she saw that day as well. Anyway, enjoy:

Favorite western movies?
In regards to "Jeremiah Johnson", it is one of my top 5 favorite movies ever. I love Pollack's direction in this movie. It reminds me alot of the John Ford films in reagrd to its use of scenery. It was filmed almost in its entirety on Redford's property. But I really don't consider it a western. More of an adventure movie, I'd say.

Favorite western movies?
You guys are forgetting about Sergio Leone's classic, "One Upon a Time in the West" Also, "The Wild Bunch" by Peckinpah, a movie 30 years ahead of its time in terms of direction. "The Shootist" is my favorite John Wayne movie, while "Tombstone" is my favorite modern western.

No Federal Rate Change- What This Means To You
Federal Reserve Chairman spoke loudly today- by saying little at all. The Federal Open Market Committee decided to leave the Federal Funds Rate (the index upon which prime is affixed) at 5.25%, the same since last June. As you are probably hearing, the DOW responded in kind by finishing the day up 159.4 points. So what does this mean to you? Despite what you may be thinking, the Federal Reserve's decision not to raise rates is actually a good thing. This accomplishes two things- first, it stems any talk of a recession or a slowdown in economic growth. Typically, when the market begins to bottom out or the possibility of a recession appears, the Federal Reserve will step in and lower interest rates to curb recession possibilites and keep a strong market. By not raising them, the Federal Reserve sends a strong signal to investors that it is not overly concerned about recession talk and expects mild to moderate growth. That's good for the economy and ultimately good for your pocketbook. Secondly, in regards to mortgage interest rates, this continues a trend of predictability with interest rates so that you, the buyer needs not worry about trying to time your purchase with a dip in interest rates. Ultimately, I believe we will see the Fed lower interest rates, but I don't see that happening until fall, when we get through another summer of slow housing sales and the government trys to kick start home purchases in time for a strong fourth quarter.
