    Man, I love big catfish!
  2. You guys should try Brahma. It's a Brazilian beer that has pretty much replaced Corona and Bud Light for me. Also look at Blue Moon. It's excellent with a slice of orange.
  3. Saltwater: Dolphin Freshwater: Bluegill (I've heard about lake trout and walleye, but haven't had them)
  4. If you have no boat, ponds are the way to go. The allure of fishing lakes, in my opinion, is tracking the fish down and locating them. Some people don't like the ponds because they feel as though the fish are sequestered and the hunt for the fish is eliminated.

Yeah, Sal. You didn't tell me you were bringng in a ringer. ;D
  7. Jim, have you seen the canals down here? I'd eat them on Kentucky Lake, but not from South Florida canals.

Ditto, Sal. That was a HAWG that you pulled out.
  9. I never keep my bass. I couldn't tell you when the last time it was that I kept one. I just to catch them, maybe get a picture and then release the fish. If I want to catch fish to eat, I'll head to my favorite reef and get some yellowtail snapper and if I'm lucky, a few grouper too.

I'm in. You guys want to meet at the kayak shack? Say about 5?
  14. I agree with Will. After gas, lunch and other expendibles, this gives you 2k per month and 24k per year. Probably not the income you're looking for.
  15. My favorite lake is my former home lake, Ketucky Lake. With the exception of certain northern species (pike, lake trout) I believe it to be the finest overall lake in the country. It is a great fishery for many types of fish and world class for for bass, catfish and crappie (probably the best crappie lake in the country).

Well, if you guys want, let's set up a day to go. What night is good for everyone? I'm thinking next Wednesday at the Park Ave BBQ on Palm Beach Lakes Blvd.

If you guys want to get together, I'm all for it. I liked Sal's idea about the BBQ. Anybody else like Park Ave?
  22. Bassmaster, In-fisherman, Field and Stream. In-fisherman is my fav.
  23. There is a good canal I fish in when I'm bored about 35 feet from my front door. Otherwise, I can usually find a good place within a 10-15 minute drive.

BBQ and fish??? I'm all in!
  25. I don't know about the rest of these guys, but I have one particular tactic that I fall back on when nothing else seems to work. For me this is a good fish finding tool as well. I use a 3" curly tail grub (usually white but you may need to play with that) attached to a spinnerblade. I cast out as far as I can and work it up and down slowly. I let the bait fall all the way to the bottom and then pump the rod back up, bringing it to near surface. Once there, I let it fall again, reeling in as it does so. Like I said, I do this slowly and allow the blade to do its work. I usually get hit just as the grub begins its descent. I like the smaller size as it is not too big for some of the lesser fish to take and it seems to be easy picking for some of the larger, more lethargic bass. I hope this helps, Jason
