  1. Nice. Also, in Farrington lake, do you believe it is overfished? I fish there a lot from the bank, and I always see hordes of people. In the D and R canal, which section do you think is the most productive? I have fished there for a whole day, and caught nothing at the Carnegie lake section.
  2. The texas rig flat out always works. I have caught bass on it in 35 degree water temperature and in 80 degree water temperature.
  3. Thanks and its my local honeyhole (not willing to disclose more than its a secret pond). Also, btw, have you ever fished Farrington Lake or Carnegie Lake?
  4. Today, because I noticed the weather was pretty nice, I decided to go to my local honeyhole and see if I could catch some bass. When I got there and fished for approximately half an hour with no success with a ragetail worm, I suddenly managed to hook up with a really nice bedding bass. I was extremely surprised because I caught this fat momma less than 5 feet away from the bank. I imadeitly noticed that this bass was extremely fat and had an impressive girth, and I am willing that she was full of eggs. She probably would easily beat my old pb by a good 2 or 3 ounces or so. Later I also managed to catch a dink on a rage lobster. Overall, I had a really good day and thanks to roadwarrior for the plethora of baits he sent me!
  5. Personally, I think the black max cant compare to any reel above 60$. Way too much plastic and cheap components.
  6. On spinning reels I would stay with 20lb braid.. but 30lb braid should work. Keep in mind that you might lose some casting distance.
  7. LOL... is the black max the only reel you have?
  8. Yep. A largemouth Bass. I usually first look at the coloration (i.e. no stripes), and if that doesn't work, look at the jaw.
  9. For those types of ponds, for me, only buzzbaits and frogs work. Nothing else. Even jigs and flukes get weeded up in the eyes of the hooks.
  10. Powell Diesel, Lightning Rod Shock, Lexa on clearance etc. You have plenty of options. Just go in store and test out what works best for YOU.
  11. I feel for you man... lol I used to have 17 pound camo siege and it was a mess. Big game is probably the most inexpensive line that people will recommend to you.
  12. 6925 with braid. I have that size, and it works perfectly for fineese applications. Also probably should work fine for crappie.
  13. well they are secret....
  14. From my experiences inline spinners catch smaller bass than spinnerbaits, but get more quanitiy. I use rooster tails primarily for trout and crappie.
  15. Powell diesel is perfect... as long as you are careful with your rods.
  16. Is it anything like Sufix siege? I used to have 17 pound siege camo, and let me say, the memory was INSANE. Whenever you casted out, huge loops would form and it would be impossible to deal with backlashes. Whenever you tried to unpick a backlash and let the line out on the ground, the line started forming knots. I eventually got so ticked off at the line that I managed to sell it with a reel.
  17. Dude.. you were the one who first that my simile between braid and mono was completely wrong. BTW I will then change my simile to "Compared to braid, monofilament has some more stretch"
  18. DVT is in new York... he is the closest guy I can think of. BTW what type of rod?
  19. I have been recently searching up lines for cranking. Due to the fact that I cant spend that much money, I am looking at cheap, limp mono or copoly that doesn't have too much memory.
  20. Do you fish braid often? I run braid on all my spinning setups. There is a definitely a noticeable difference in stretch between braid and mono. For bass, it nots that big of a deal. But up north, when you start dealing with the occasional bi catch of pike or pickerel you will be glad for that lack of stretch. Personally, I run copoly on all my baitcasters. It works perfectly fine, but I just have to set the hook a bit harder compared to my spinning rigs. Overall, I will concur to you that there isn't that much stretch in mono; but it definetly is noticeable and feelable when compared to braid.
  21. ^^ lol not everybody has 400$ lying around. BTW, that combo you have should suit you pretty well.
  22. Was this supposed to be an april fools joke or what?
