  1. Only one I've ever obsessed about was the one my buddy missed in our first ever tournament. We would have had 2nd in the bag and been a few ounces from winning or losing 1st. Had it on a 2.5 strike king square bill bouncing off branches and he tried to switch sides bc he had set the pole towards the trolling motor and when he lifted it to pull the other way she came up and spit it right out. Not a huge one by any means probably 4.5lbs but it was our first tournament and it would have put us with a full live well and 2nd place no doubt but 5th out of 22 boats is respectable for our first time.
  2. Not mine but this fish was just a hair under 26" last summer and my buddy I fish all my tournaments with called me and told me to bring the scale down to our famous sportmans club lake. If I remember right it was like 5lbs 6oz or something like that. I mean she was healthy but soooo far from full potential
  3. Today was the first day I got anything in the water. Just bank fished the little lake on my local sportmans club literally 2 miles down the road from my house. Didn't catch anything but felt good. Later this week I'll probably have the boat out on it. Thursday maybe??
  4. I've got family down in Mebane NC. We visited last year in September and I drooled while I was driving over falls bc had a guy down there that has a boat but he usually cat fishes but he was going to take me out. He backed in the lake the morning we got down there and went to start the prop up and his prop shaft split in like 8 places I believe they said lol. But I went and bank fished the Graham-Mebane lake which was voted the best bass fishing lake in NC or something like that. It was down a few feet and raining but I found a bunch of lures in roots around the lake walking. Let me know how Falls treats you I'll be down sometime this year and I'll either be there or Jordan bc that's where he usually fishes. Oh and almost forgot lol Congratz!!!!
  5. Got one 30 minutes away it's super salty price wise. I only go up for the sale items and then sometimes they're retail prices for every where else
  6. Depending where your at in the states and your water temps really play a big part in where they're going to be as well. I got my boat last year and me and my buddy joined a small club series and we learned a ton. We caught fish but not as much as I thought i would. I really had to stop and look at my technics and tackle and what I actually knew and what I want to know. I have a sportmans club that is 3miles from my house with a small small lake that I go and practice new setups all the time and I'll go more this year. But it doesn't have what the big bodies of water have. Creeks, big drops, ledges, no points. Here soon the ice will be off and I'll be in about 10-15ft of water in the wide mouths of creek channels working jerk baits and jigs real slow till the water hits 55degrees then I'll start fishing moving baits spinners, and cranks and jerks still as they start to fatten up for spawn. After it warm and summer is here I fish finesse or flip and pitch in cover. Watch your weather and know your lakes the fish are every where.
  7. Hop on ebay i just found a guy selling yo zuri in 600yd rolls for 7.99 I got it in 4,8,10lb just gotta get 12,15lb and I'm set. I also got 300yards of power pro 65lb for $10 on an auction
  8. Revo...Abu garcia for life. Nuff said. But not gonna lie one of the smoothest reels I have ever owned was a pflueger haven't fished it yet as I just bought it but it's like silk but I love my revos
  9. But I'll admit soon as the water temp hits 50-55 the action really ramps up. Specially that 55 mark can really get into those moving baits I.e. Crankbaits spinnerbaits etc.
  10. I can work jigs really really slowly from the front of my boat soon as there is open water lol but I'm the most impatient person I know.
  11. Wow so far it's been almost unanimous for frog. Place near me that renovated has them on a super good sale. Might just go grab a set Thursday. Got a lacrosse PVC triplet vent jacket for $6 for the old lady there few weeks ago. Would have got myself one but they were only in size small
  12. Was leaning towards the guide series but I need to look at toggs again I guess. I mean my hunting boots are 1200grain toggs and they're great but the jackets are that weird material and I never thought it would work that great
  13. Same here for numbers. We caught more bass of this worm wacky rigged then anything last year. It was nuts. Biggest was 5lbs3oz
  14. I've looked T frog togs and I don't know just can't seem to believe that material will hold up to some of the rain I was in last year. Like I said I had a jacket and after 8 hours it was like a sponge
  15. We troll with old rapalla jerk baits for trout with down riggers in the summer when they're sitting at the 20ft mark
  16. ^^^ knew it was coming lol
  17. I've seen some nice bass caught out of the Potomac. Go slow and fish with smaller baits. Weightless wacky rigged senkos have killed it there before. One of my favorite is a finesse football head jig with a craw trailer and just drag it as slow as possible
  18. Oh wow I didn't know the guide series had that option. I give gander mountain a lot if crap but I think I might start shopping there again. I just like bass pro to much.
  19. I tend to do 12 for jigs. But this year might switch to 10lb since I'm making the switch to yo zuri hybrid. The lighter you can get away with the better
  20. Do you guys have open water in southern Maryland already? And trust me our first tournament last year I came out of the gates swinging. Was cranking over structure caught 7 first thing in the morning with 2 keepers. Really slowed down after that lol but we switched to a finesse wacky rig and got our confidence back. A lot of trial and error. Pre-fishing is huge! And knowing your water conditions the day before as well. We were one fish from second place and my buddy had it at the boat but he spit the crank out. Easy a 4lb bass but still makes for a great memory of our first tournament ever
  21. I plan to be using it for 1/4 once finesse jigs this year
  22. Another thought anyone have a preference to fingerless gloves for spring time fishing?
  23. Yeah no definitely buying bibs lol
  24. Glad to see that more programs like this are shining light on LMB genetics. A fishes size is dependent on a lot of things but it all starts with genes
