  1. OP this is the truth. I purchased my first boat earlier this year and can say my experience was right on track with his.
  2. I cleaned up on those S/K tungsten weights myself. They were a $1.00 a pack and I bought over $20 dollars worth.
  3. I do it all the time with everything from crank baits to soft plastics and have never had a problem.
  4. Thanks for l the help and opinions guys.
  5. I'm in Mount Croghan which is Northeast of Columbia. I purchased mine from the same place.
  6. If you don't mind me asking where did you buy the boat, Berkley?
  7. My first boat a 2015 Triton 17TX
  8. I recently purchased the same boat and outboard although I bought the Triton version (same boat as the Ranger). The boat handles open water ok. Maybe it's just me but when the wind gets up around 15 MPH it just isn't worth it so I stay in the protected coves and be prepared to get blown around quite a bit. It doesn't take much of a breeze to spin you like a top which so far is my biggest complaint about the boat but I guess that's to be expected with a tin rig. Judging by your username I take it your from SC? Which part?
  9. WOW a gallon every 2 minutes. What type of engine is it?
  10. Thanks for the help so far guys. I dug through the manual a little and it says that max output is at 5800 RPM so I guess that would be the point where the power will fall off and speed will no longer increase.
  11. Guys the manual for my current outboard (Yamaha F70 4 stroke) says full throttle operating range is 5300-6300 RPM. Where in this RPM range should I be operating? Do most of you guys run at WOT? For what it's worth the boat is a 2015 Triton 17TX and is my first. I've never seen anything with such a wide range of max RPM which kind of left me scratching my head as to where I should be running. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
