  1. You know, mine has a good assortment of Lucky Craft, Megabass, etc lures...rods are another story.
  2. Caught one on a Noisy Flapper last night along the edges. New frog rod is amazing!!!
  3. I'm working on walking with my casting setups. So far, I can only walk baits with my spin tackle, but it's getting better.
  4. I'm using braid for a few reasons. I hate fluoro for anything other than a leader for clear water. It handles awfully for me. Braid cuts through weeds and has zero stretch. A palomar and I'm done. With fluoro, I'm spitting on the line to keep it from burning up.
  5. Nope. It was marked $49, so when it rang up $9, I d**n near passed out. I've been looking for a dedicated frog rod, but I assume it would toss 2 ounce swimbaits too if I decided to use it for that.
  6. I just bought a Castaway Pro Sport 7'3" Mag Bass for $8.98 at Academy off of the clearance rack...
  7. I may try the Noisy Flappers or Damiki Air Frogs I have. I don't know...I know I have to give them a beat to suck it in and turn their head. I got my first frog bite and overreacted. I think a toad would be more conducive to my style of fishing.
  8. Hey, I'm fishing a small pond close to home a few times a week and it's quite matted. I'm determined to learn to frog and I assume I'm geared well enough for it, 6-6MH Vengeance, Kastking Stealth and 30# braid. I had one hit last night, but, like a dope, I pulled the bait away. What can I do to increase success? I'm casting to mats, skittering it across and leaving it in the pockets, and so forth...it's a bit frustrating.
  9. Why not 6 or 8lb? Their diameter and strength are a bit higher than other lines, so the 6 is actually like 11, but that's nothing. The 10 and 12 are great lines for tossing spinnerbaits, swim jigs, etc.
  10. People don't say. Z-Man says this themselves. It creates a chemical reaction that melts other plastics or bags or Plano boxes...
  11. Man, I truly feel the point of diminishing return is just about $100 on casting rods, same on casting reels, maybe slightly higher, spinning reels I'm about $50 and spinning rods probably the same $100. I value quality, but by buying blems and last year models, you can save a BUNCH of moola.
  12. Umm, given what we know, which isn't a lot, I'll change my decision. I have a Deep South Elite Tubes 6'6 M with a Lews 300 on it loaded with 15lb Superpower and an 8lb Red Label leader. I use it for sub 1/2oz baits on a TRig, walking baits, small buzzbaits and Pond Magic baits. It works well and is super sensitive. The Superpower braid is great for the price, but I want to try some of their 8 carrier line.
  13. Feeling those isn't easily done. When I'm using my soft craws on creeks for bass on a M spinning rod, I catch 5x the fish by sight than by feel. Watch your line. Use a high vis line with a fluoro leader...
  14. Any of those cigar worms are very heavy and don't require a weight.
  15. For a senko? No weight. They're already HEAVY. I go weighted (1/16) for finesse worms or flick shakes.
  16. Here's a spot. Look at the horizontal rows of dark spots below the lateral line. And the pic with the plopper is a largie, without the spots...
  17. Honestly, I use 30lb gray Superpower on my MH. I normally fish weedlines and edges, seldom slop, but I'm going to give that a go this summer. I have 10lb Hybrid on my M casting rods and 15lb green Superpower on one spinning rod (probably grabbing some yellow or putting Nanofil on it too), 6'6 M and 12lb Nanofil on my 6'6 ML.
  18. No rows of horizontal spots below the lateral line say LMB.
  19. Largemouth, no doubt.
  20. I have a 6'6 Lews Laser SG1 ML that I'm quite fond of.
  21. @pauldconyers, I have sent you a PM.
  22. Fila Skeletoes...I am a fan. They're great for floating, from a boat, shore bassin', everything.
  23. If you have options for rods, don't complain. In fact, people have come to this thread and offered sound advice and you have done nothing short of being rude. If you can't or haven't figured them out yet, perhaps it's just not meant to be.
