  1. Choosing between Daiwa Tatula 7 ft M Regular, Dobyns Fury 734, and Falcon Bucoo SR. Does anyone use these for topwater baits. Specifically walking baits such as Storm arashi cover pops, Strike King Sexy Dawg, and Sexy dawg jr on 30lb braid. Thanks.
  2. What’s the best bucoo sr rod for walking topwater baits like sexy dawgs and cover pops?
  3. Is this the new Tatula rod? TTU701MRB?
  4. A lot of guys walk the dog with their rod tip to the side though which makes sense with trebles and setting the hook with a sweeping hookset instead of a over your head jack em hookset. Most pros use braid to mono leader for topwater fishing.
  5. You can get a Falcon Lowrider for $80 with the Dicks sale. They are already discounted to $99. That’s a hell of a deal for that rod.
  6. If you wait for a sale you could find a Dobyns Sierra 734 around $150. The 734 in any Dobyns line is like a Swiss Army knife for bass fishing. My other choice would be the Daiwa Tatula Elite Brent Ehler multipurpose rod. You can find them around $150 if u shop around also. If you want to go a little lower, the Dobyns Fury 734 is excellent and the regular Tatula Rods can be had for $100 on sportsman’s outfitters. I think that rod is the best bang for your buck.
  7. Fury for me too.......I think you might still be able to get one 20% at sportsman’s outfitters with the code FREEDOM. Not sure if it’s expired though.
  8. High speed ones are sold out.....I’m starting to think that I just just go with the SV’s since these will be used for pitching and skipping a lot.
  9. So from what I’m hearing, the only real thing the 100 has over the CT is that the 100 palms slightly better. Any thoughts on how the zero adjust deal works?
  10. Aren’t you gonna give Brent Ehler some props for teaching you this ??
  11. I have high speed CTs for my Texas rigging and jig fishing. Wondering how much better the 100s are. I like the CT but my only real gripe is that they don’t palm that well IMO. Anyone have any insight.
  12. I have this rod and got it for $99 from sportsman’s and I love it. Light, balanced and plenty sensitive. Easy to skip too!!
  13. I have a 734 been thinking about growing spooks on it although I don’t know how it would do with the cover pop. Also Gary Dobyns recommends a 733 for spooks.
  14. Anyone fished a 13 fishing defy black? 6’7 MH seems to suit my needs and it’s cheap.
  15. Yes most topwater specific rods I’ve seen are rated at about 3/4 oz so I guess I’m looking for a stick that will handle that 7/8 oz sexy dawg as well as the cover pops. The 705 CB is rated to an ounce so that’s not an issue it just seems a little too moderate for that larger sexy dawg.
  16. Right now I throw them on a Dobyns Fury 705CB. Walking is fine, but casting accuracy leaves a little to be desired.
  17. Mainly throwing Strike King Sexy Dawg(7/8 oz) Sexy Dawg Jr(1/2 oz) and Storm Cover Pops (1/2 oz). Looking to spend somewhere around $100. Mainly a Dobyns and Daiwa rod guy, but willing to give other companies a try. Any input is appreciated.
  18. Yea I would get 2 on sportsman’s outfitters!!
  19. I use a Dobyns Fury 735 and a Lews tournament mb 8.3:1 and it is perfect for frogs, heavy jigs and larger whopper ploppers. Couldn’t ask for anything more and right around $200.
  20. Daiwa Tatula Elites are excellent rods right in the middle of your price range. For $100 on sportsman’s outfitters it’s hard to beat the new 2018 Tatula bass rods too. Dobyns Sierra would be my other choice hands down.
  21. Overtons has 35% off with code flash35
