help with bank fishing
yes worms and spinners can be fished vary well in the spring time from the shore the biggest thing barnone is confadence both worms and spinners are preaty much weedless and if your really getting into bass fishing 2 of the best choices for lures to start with you might want to add a few topwater baits to your tackle to and stick with those 3 things untill you get them mastered tight lines Jack

New Fisherman
i would say the fist thing is keep it simple. don't go out and invest hundreds of dollars in stuff people tell you you have to have. simple means going to walmart spending 40 are so bucks on a good rod and reel combo starting out i don't beleave you need all the highend rod and reels on the market. then start simple with your lure slection. master a few lures a year like this year stick with spinners worms and topwaters. i would stay start out pond fishing all three of the above lures probbbly take more pond bass then any other lure on ponds a good way to learn before you move on. tight lines Jack

catch and realease
i do selctive harvest 3 are 4 times a year i take bass home from the lake that are between 14 and 17 inches. you all might want to check with your local game wardens also before releasing bass from a pond into a lake in some states it's illgal also thats a good way to spread diease from fish to fish is transfering them. most states have stocking programs that stock lakes and privet ponds just a heads up. tight lines Jack

Aluminum Boat
i replaced some flooring on a boat 5 are so years ago i used 3/4 inch treated plywood and it is still holding up the only thing i had to redo is i put regular indoor/outdoor carpet on it that i ended up replacing with a marina grade carpet 2 years later the marina grade is alittle more expensive but worth it in the long run Jack

I see'm..no hits.. what to do next
i have a saying thats stood for 10 are so years now if they don't bite off a purple K&E worm they ain't gonna bite if you see um you might want to go finess light line and light lures and be vary stealthy try hitting those same spots you seen the bass early in the morning are late in the evening if you have a front thats gonna move through in the next 36 to 48 hours fish then to. watch the moon phases i have allways slayed bass 24 to 36 hours before the new are full moon keep er tight and keep er wet Jack

How do you tell?
yes keep the line tight on worms if its windy depending on how stong the wind is you might wanna add a bullet waight when i fish if its calm i don't use any waight or just as light as bullet waight as i can get away with.with senko type baits you might want to keep this in mind i fish them on semi slack line and when i detect a strike a slowly reel in my slack and set the hook in the opposite direction the fish is running. and i don't set the hook so hard it pulls the worm out of there mouth because 95% of the time with those baits they just pick them up and go tight line Jack

How do you tell?
also if your new to fishing i would only focus on 2 or 3 things like top waters spinners and worms for a year or 2 then slowly open the door to new things in your arsenal i think part of being sucsessful is sticking to only 1 thing at a time even if it is not working for you at that moment. i had a buddy that gave up fishing after 1 season because he never had much luck but every time he was with me he would throw a lure for 20 or so minutes and change. tight lines Jack

How do you tell?
one thing i do when fishing worms like senko's is keep an eye on my line when it starts to move in a direction im not reeling i reel in the slack and set the hook. if you get bit on a spinner bait the first thing most of the time the bass does is jumps to try to throw the hook. no matter what your using it usually takes a fish or two to get the feeling and the confadence in that particular bait or lure. just don't give up and when all else fails slow down alittle more tight lines Jack

Kentucky Bass (Spots)

Help from the pros
this is a good time of year to really pick apart the rip raps on the north end of the lake your fishing rocks conduct heat and that will be the first spot that the craws start to emerge at. a jig or suspending jerkbait fished slow will usually get you some bites or slow rolling a spinner bait.i have had great sucsess in the midday as the water in the shallows warms up on the rip raps. the bass should almost be at that point between now and 3 to 5 weeks depending on what part of the country your at that the bass will really start to feed heavy (pre spawn)and there main diet are those emerging craws tight line Jack

Lily Pads
my go to for pads is weedless spoons you can work them up and around and through the pads with ease gliding them over the top and letting them drop is vary deadly tight line Jack

why some baits dont work on all waters
some times bass also get use to a certin kind of lure being thrown and they will shy away from it fishing preassure if the lake is fished heavy with blades that might be your answer tight line Jack
