  1. I'm looking at getting me some cold weather gear, how long as this Columbia gear been around? And good reviews on it? I have heard enough bad from the 100mph suit to make me not want it. But I need something that is also length as I am 6'7". So is it a good suit for the price, or are there better options?
  2. I feel like this will be my 1/4oz to maybe 3/8oz finesse and bitsy bug jig setup. I don't feel like it had enough backbone for heavy wire hooks. If I like it I will hunt down a little more beefy rod. Honestly first off it feels like my megabass blows it out of the water in the $300 department for feel, quality, and balance. But for the $200 I gave for it I feel like it is better than my st criox avid. This rod feels like more of a $200 rod than a $300 rod if you get what I'm saying.
  3. First impressions of the rod, it seems perfectly balanced but just a fuzz on the heavy side. May be a little light on the power for what I'm looking for, but i definately have other uses for it. If I like it a lot I will probably order the same rod in 4 or 5 power for my jig needs
  4. I had a $20 coupon for field and stream and I got bit by the monkey, now I have a imx riding shotgun as I go home.
  5. What power would you recommend?
  6. What about a 853c jwr imx? It's on sale for $220 at field and stream. I'm holding it in my hand as I speak. I kinda want it either way but it seems underpowered for jigs, what you guys think?
  7. I went looking for this exact same rod last year. I ended up with a orochi xx emtf. And it is the most amazing rod I have ever felt. Amazingly balanced for a 7'5" rod, and it has a great almost parabolic taper with some serious backbone. I love it for my 3/16 to 7/16 weights. I have it paired with a curado 200i and it is a absolute dream to fish with, and amazingly sensitive to boot. If you plan on buying a megabass rod I highly suggest you hit up tackle trap and give them a call.
  8. Okay lets narrow it down to these three, what model Dobyns champion, loomis imx, and orochi xx would you recommend for my needs? Also if anyone knows of any sales on these rods please let me know. I'm think like a 7'2"-7'4" in length. But I'm unfamiliar with how loomis and Dobyns rod powers are.
  9. Could you post a link to that? Thanks I like the ltb rods, but I just can't do split grips.
  10. I have a xx emtf that I love, another xx may be the answer i need. But I'd really like to have a lifetime warranty rod, so I was thinking maybe Dobyns or loomis
  11. I'm looking for a jig rod to cast 3/8 mainly and sometimes 1/2oz jigs. gonna be a lot of pitching cover and structure but also casting banklines. It has to be full handle, that's my only requirement. I was looking into buying another megabass rod but i was wondering what you guys think would be the best under $300?
  12. I have a st croix avid and a couple Phenix m1 rods that I love, but it doesn't hold a candle to megabass orochi xx, the extra $ bill is well worth it in my opinion. The sensitivity and lightweightness of the rod are amazing. Get on the phone with the tackle trap and check out there selection there.
  13. You may be looking at the 300e which is a bigger spoil size reel vs the 200i. But I buy my curado I's off eBay for 110-130, and I feel like they are unbeatable for a new reel in that price range.
  14. One last thing is, when does the 50 size spool start to become a problem over a 100 size? It will be spooled with 10-12lb sunline sniper
  15. I think I'm sold on the Calais 100a it seems like the only downfall is weight, which doesn't bother me. I've been trying to hunt one down for a good deal but I'm having a hard time even finding one for sale.
  16. The Phenix m1 swimbait rod has been absolutely amazing for me, paired with a Cardiff 400 and 25# maxima ultragreen
  17. I'm looking for a good reel to pair with my st. Criox avid 6'6" M, I currently have 4 curado I's. I'd like to stay shimano. I've been looking at older high end reels trying to find good deals here and there. I'm wondering what would be a good higher end used reel for my setup? I've been Checking out Calais, core, chronarchs and others but I don't know much about the older shimanos.
  18. I use all megabass and lucky craft out of the boat, but from shore you should check out the strike King kvd jerkbaits, rapala shadow and x-raps, and smith wick rougues. All of which are easily and readily available.
  19. So this is more of a homemade thing? No wonder I couldn't find anything for sale lol
  20. I give up, I added huge split rings to my triple trout and it will still swim upside down if I reel it fast enough. I dont know what to do, and I have no confidence with I sideways swimming bait
  21. I saw a tommy baffle video where he was talking about inserting foam in hollow baits to make them float, is there something you specifically buy for this? I tried researching this but found nothing. I would like to try it on a c-rig
  22. The only color gycb needs to make is smoke with black and purple flake. It's the universal color that works everywhere
  23. Well I give up on getting replys now, I'm gonna see if I can fix it on my on. I'll post results if I fail or succeed
  24. It's more about quality of the bearings over the total bearing count
  25. Get on eBay and find you a jdm conquest, you will be pleased
