  1. I'm 50/50 on this. Tournaments time usually means I've got a partner alone with me. Just fishing week days, I'm usually by myself. Then when my son comes over for a day during the weekend, it's us. I do concentrate better by myself. But I never mind a person with me, we can usually figure out how to correct all what's wrong in the world by day's end. Problem is we forget what the solutions were by the time we get back on dry land.
  2. Tuesday April 19th and the 20th. On the 19th, you have cloud cover and the bass will not be holding so tight to shade. The bass will be more adapt to go further out for your lure. On the 20th, most of the same but you might catch the forthcoming front pressure coming in and the bass will be more active. From the 13th to the 15th, rain of course hampers you. April 17th and 18th, would be fine but you ask for the best two days. April 22nd, rain coming back in.
  3. If you use their stock logos you do not need permission from any company. I had to get permission to use non-stock company logos for the sponsors we have for our club. But all they did was and in their company logo via email and that was a good enough permission to add them to our jerseys.
  4. Www.customfishingjerseys.com, A.k.a.,The winning Team. They do fishing jerseys, our clubs jerseys came from them at a reasonable price. Super cool in the heat and wick moistened material.
  5. Hi Anderson, Thanks for your interest. What type of information you need about us? If you have a Facebook page, you can also find us there at Coosa River Bass Club. This page was just set up, and the information on it will be presented to the club at our meeting this Thursday night. Do you live near Lincoln/Pell City/Talladega?
  6. I want to throw out an invite to anyone around the Pell City area along the Coosa River chain that we have started a new Bass Club. (COOSA RIVER BASS CLUB) We will meet once a month, as close to our next tournament as possible to make sure everyone knows all the details of the upcoming tournament. We will fish one tournament a month and hopefully have ten tournaments a year to determine the champion for that year. The lakes will be voted on the month before by votes among the members. Most lakes will be part of the Coosa River chain. ( Weiss/Neely Henry/Logan Martin/Lay) It will be a team/boat tournament where each boat competes as a team and the largest five fish from that boat will be weighed to determine the winner. As of right now we have 12 members signed on and with more interested in joining. If you are interested in joining us or knowing more about us you can contact me through the site here and I can give you more information. April 2nd is our first tournament on Lay Lake.
  7. Just beginning one now in and around Logan Martin Lake in Alabama. We just had our first meeting last week with 12 people showing up and going over the highlights and rules which will form the club. This club will fish 10 tournaments a year with a champion being crowned at years end. So far we have a great group to begin with and looking to expand to maybe 15 to 20 boats at each tournament. Right now we have 6 or 7 as of today. We will have a membership fee along with a tournament fee and big fish pot. All in all it's been very smooth in getting the rules established and heading in the right direction. I've been in a few clubs so I am using a lot of the good things that I have seen work. The key I think is to find the right people that you are looking for in a club. This makes everyone tend to agree on the by-laws that are being set up. Also just use the simple fact that each person loves to fish and enjoy the competition that a club can bring to each angler. We will fish the chain of lakes on the Coosa River and maybe fish the other local lakes in and around the Talladega/Pell City area.
  8. I lean toward being that guy, but I also understand the most important factor in catching bass is fishing where they are. My first thought on any of my fishing trips are the locations I hope to find fish. I do have graphs on my boat one in the dash and one up front. They are not what you consider the best on the market, really they are the ones which just tell me if fish are there and at what depth. You can carry hundreds of lures, worms, spinnerbaits, fill in the blank with your favorite lure. If there are no fish....guess what? You catch no fish. Big boat, small boat, doesn't matter, is there fish there to be caught. i have more lures than I'll properly need or even use. Around 6 rod and reels but I again tend to use what I am seeing on my graphs to determine what I use. I'm very basic in that approach. If they are deep I throw a worm, if they are on structure I may add a jig. Shallow fishing along the banks, mainly cranks until I hit a pocket then go back and fish worms if the crank baits stop working. But......all this hinges on is there bass there or not. You can have one or two lures and be in a spot where fish are holed up and you will catch a lot. You can have ten rod and reels and 500 lures of every design and catch nothing if their not around. Thats where I try to help it simple.
  9. Call the Mountain Monsters guys, Buck and Trapper along with Huckleberry will find that rascal in like 10 minutes. Of course it will only be a night and spitting rain.
  10. Had our first meeting for the new Coosa River Bass Club. We had 11 members joining up and we will be having our second meeting, March 10th, to elect the directors. More have said will join then. This will be a club where we fish once a month usually on the chain of lakes on the Coosa River. Neely Henry, Logan Martin, Lay Lake. Plus lakes close by like Wedowee and Weiss. A full year will have us fishing ten tournaments from February through November. (Year-end banquet in December and voting for the new season in January meetings) There is a membership fee that covers you for a year, and each tournament cost is $25 with an additional $10 fee if you choose to get into the big bass pot. Pay out right now goes to the top three finishers and a year-end bonus winner for the overall leader in points from all the tournaments. (We may pay out for the top 3 finishers at year end in points, this hasn't been voted on yet, and the next meeting we will do that.) You won't get rich here, but the fun will make up the difference I'm sure. If anyone is interested in the club you can post here and I can get back with you. We may have our first tournament in April if we can get all the business side settled. We are accepting boaters and non-boaters, really people who just love to chase those green fish called bass.
  11. I never found a club but a few buddies of mine and their friends are starting a new club. Our first meeting is March 3rd. The name of the club will be Coosa River Bass Club. Right now I think we have around 15 members. i think we may even have a corporate sponsor that will supply us fishing jerseys. So far the guys that are committed to joining are a great group with no egos and are looking to have a club that everyone can enjoy.
  12. I stay on the spot I am working. Most times it is a turtle, carp, or gar. Plus if I am throwing a crank bait in a search pattern I do not want to stop the arc which I am in. If I see shad popping I just keep a eye on that area to see if more action happenings.
  13. I am looking to get involved with a local club that fish, Logan Martin, Neely Henry, Lay lake, Wedowee.
