- Daiwa Tatula 200
I my last reel was a Tatula 200 and just bought a 6.3:1 Tatula 100 2 days ago for my swimbaits. Cant wait to try it out.- Budget rod recomendation (Daiwa Tatula)
Used.- Budget rod recomendation (Daiwa Tatula)
For the kids or budget fisherman out there like myself I wanted to make a rod recommendation. I love these original regular or reaction series Tatulas. They work great for my moving baits and can be had for under $100 ($50-75 even) pretty often. I love throwing swimbaits and these have worked great for me. Again, just trying to help some one out that is looking for a good budget rod.- Recommendations for soft body swimbait that works for a very slow retrieve
12/0 owner beast for the 7.8- Chatterbait color
I remember when I ordered these from you I said just give me a mix of colors. I just lost this one and think I am out of black and blue. I will need to order more soon.- Chatterbait color
I have never had really any luck with chatterbaits. Decided to dig them out of the bottom of my tacklebox and glad I did. Maybe this one might look familiar @Bluebasser86.- Soft Plastic Making
I have had good luck melting down my old plastics. I melt down my odd colors (basically anything other than watermelon red flake) and add a little black colorant and blue flake and they turn out great.- Swimsenkos
You were obviously using them wrong. When you use them right they catch fish 5+ lbs.- Benefits of Kayak Fishing
I am right there with you. I want to fish when I am out. I normally paddle/coast my way out and down banks while fishing and then when I get done fishing I turn on the trolling motor and head back in. The only thing I wish is that I knew I was going to get a trolling motor on my yak when I bought it. I would have bought a bigger yak (big rig, nucanoe, etc) so I would be more comfortable and stable while out.- How quickly do you go through plastics?
I have never ordered any of their hand pour molds, but I am sure @Bluebasser86 is correct.- How quickly do you go through plastics?
Yes. Good stuff from them. What are you looking at?- How quickly do you go through plastics?
I remelt my used plastic and make new baits. Seems like I go through senkos pretty fast. I can usually make my swimbaits last and my creatures and craws last a while.- Starting a YouTube Channel
100%. I would love to go fish with that guy. Cant believe no kayak company has given that guy a better yak. My butt and back would kill me after sitting in his yak for an hour. I guess catching fish heals all pain.- Daiwa Zillion 741 MHRB - What would you use it for?
I have that same rod. It sits in my closet and never comes out b/c im not a big fan of squarebills and cranking. Are you thinking maybe fishing a Strike King Bitsy Bug on it? If so I am willing to give that a try just to get this rod out on the kayak with me and get some use out of it.- Starting a YouTube Channel
I enjoy instructional videos more than just watching people cast and cast. Have a point to the video. Dont go out thinking today i am going to make a video on jig fishing and go out and get skunked. Go fish and get good video of catching fish and explaining things as you go. You can always record your intro/outro after you finish fishing. I hope that makes sense. Only took 30 minutes of typing while at red lights. Lol I dont know how he does it but l love how Greg Blanchard displays the bait he is using before he catches a fish in the video.- The jig, the bite, the hookset
Maybe this might help if its actually bass hitting it. After reading more post it does not look like it was a hook set problem. I think changing color and adding scent might be your best bet. Anyways....its a good jig fishing video.- Daiwa Zillion 741 MHRB - What would you use it for?
How do you feel softer rods and Newtons Third Law affects your hook sets in a kayak?- Daiwa Zillion 741 MHRB - What would you use it for?
I have 2 of these rods in the Tatula version. I did not like using them on swimbaits where I had to set the hook. An example would be when using a flashy swimmer. When I set the hook the combination of the regular action and my kayak moving forward did not make for a good hook set. I dont fish chatterbaits much but planned on using them for chatterbaits (since they have an exposed hook). After this post and watching Matt Allens video I think I am going to give it a try fishing jigs.- How have you simplified soft plastic choice?
I am in a kayak all the time and take a little tackle bag and have really narrowed it down. I have a light color and a dark color of each bait I use. If I find a June bug color on sale of a bait I use I dont say no I need black and blue. I buy the June bug. Same for my light colors. I am personally not a good enough fisherman to know if the bass are not biting my June bug but would bite my black blue. Instead of switching colors I would more than likely change baits/styles up before just changing colors.- New equipment
I love my Tatula rods, but that regular action will not be great in a float tube unless you are fishing with exposed hooks. I am in a kayak and even with braid (no stretch) when I try to set the hook my kayak moves forward and I cant set the hook as well. I started using fast actions for anything requiring a good hook set and it has worked out much better for me.- Kayak
Maybe a kids butt and back is different than mine, but a raised seat makes all the difference in the world to me. I would try to get one with a raised seat and it will last him a long time. Used pescdador pros come up here for about $500 and that is the cheapest I would go for myself. That being said a lot of kids are happy as can be with any kayak. - Daiwa Tatula 200
