  1. Grande bass baby rattlesnakes don't seem too bad.
  2. I might go that route. How much of a pain is not having a console / steering wheel?
  3. After looking some more on Craigslist it looks like there are some decent options in the $6000 range for aluminum boats.
  4. I am going to start looking for a boat that me and my son can get out on the water in and fish small lakes. I don't need a full blown bass boat. I am use to fishing out of my kayak. A tackle bag and even vertical rod storage is fine. I mainly want stability and I do not like to go fast on the water. As long as I can get a few mph faster than it takes to get on plane I am good. With that said. Looking at a $3-5000 cash budget or about $10,000 if i go finance one which would you choose? Deck space and stability are my 2 main wants. Was looking to extend the deck back on something like this.... https://beaumont.craigslist.org/boa/d/2000-j16-carolina-skiff-with/6231053505.html
  5. Here is my crate. I have consolidated the lure selection and made room for my anchor and other items, but you get the point. I carry 6 rods though b/c I hate to retie.
  6. Sounds like you need the 110 to me. I really like mine.
  7. I have the 7'1" mhr and 7'2" mhr (and 2 more Tatulas) and those are awesome rods for the 110 size. I would not want to throw the 130 on them though.
  8. Is this of any help?
  9. I have 3 *** *** reels, love them and would not hesitate to buy another. With that said I am going to buy a Tatula Ct soon to see how I like them. I expect good things. I have never fished the Fury rods, but I have heard great things about them. I really like the Diawa Tatula series rods, but there are so many $100ish rods out there that are great. I found 3-4 that had great reviews on here and waited until I found them on sale. I ended up grabbing 4 Tatula rods for about $65 each (normally double that). If you can wait and find clearance sales you can double your money fast. Black Friday has been really good to me for fishing items. There are many people on this site that I love reading their replies b/c I know they base their replies on experience and @fishnkampis one of those people. I would follow his advice.
  10. I am throwing 110 on a Daiwa TAT721MHRB Tatula rod and I think this setup is perfect even though weight wise it is at the rods max. I use braid and this thing will launch the 110 a mile. It is a reaction or regular action that allows the bass to take the 110 before you set the hook. If anybody has this rod I would highly suggest giving it a try with the 110.
  11. I prefer the 110. Reel just fast enough to make it plop.
  12. I had a Pro 100 and it was a great boat. If it was the 12 footer I would probably still have it. I am about a year or so away from buying my step son one and when he gets ready I will be looking for another Pescador Pro 100 since they can be found for $400ish. Anyways, congrats and I am sure you will love it.
  13. The same thing happened to me while fishing a private pond. Weeds right underneath the surface were getting me most cast. Still landed a few but I know exactly what you are talking about. Did not even think about putting on my 90.
  14. Oh, ok. I thought you switched from a gy swimbait to another swimbait. I picked up some swimmin dingers and cane thumpers but have not tried the GY's yet even though I only hear food things about them.
  15. What brand swimbait?
  16. I am not an expert, but about a year ago I fished with a wacky rigged senko 100% of the time. 100% might be a lower number. Probably closer to 110% of the time. I rarely missed a fish. My setup is a medium action *** with shimano stratic reel. I have 15 lb braid and use a fluro leader. Now the important part. I used a number 1 octopus circle hook. When you feel the bite just reel fast. No "hook set" needed. This has worked great for me. Good luck.
  17. I was the opposite. I only fished with wacky rigged senkos. I went out this last year and bought me 6 new setups to start trying out other things. I cant say that I have caught more fish using other baits, but it is so much fun trying other things. I am sure when I figure out when to throw this or when to throw that my numbers will go up with the other baits.
  18. The braid to fluorocarbon leader knot going through my guides has never been a problem for me.
  19. Im sure you are about to get the use the search button reply. lol I liked the 90 size and had some great blowups. I did not get a chance to use my 130's, but just ordered a 110 yesterday. In the ponds I fish it works really well. It is the only top water lure I used last year, but I want to try out some others especially frogs this year.
  20. I have the 130. It has done everything I hoped it would do. If you are on Facebook search for Kevin dismuke's kayak motor mounts if you ever want to put a trolling motor on it. He has the nicest and easiest setup around.
  21. Check out the Vibes too. I really like mine for the price. The raised seat means everything to me.
  22. I have the 6'10" mhf, 7'2" hf, 7' mr, 7'1 mhr, and 7'2" mhrb. Let's just say I like them and will be getting more.
  23. @BassThumb I picked some of these up and tried them Sunday morning. No bites, but I was only out about 2 hours.
