Thanks guys. I bought some Owner shakey heads and some Megastrikes. I plan to use the Owners on my medium setup and Megastrikes on my MH. Figured I would try them both out.

Even though I said shakey head this will probably be used more as a weedless jigworm head like you said. Basically like a texas rig. Just figured it could be fished slow and even shakey head style when needed. I figured creature baits like rage king structure bugs, baby brush hogs, etc where standing up would be nice too.

I have a 7 ft 1 in medium black casting rod I am looking to throw some shakey heads with. Do you think the owner ultrahead finesse ball head with its lighter wire hook or the Megastrike Shake2 EWG with the stouter hook would work better? Since I am using a medium power rod im not sure which would be better. Probably looking at 1/8 or 3/16 with either one I go with. My main concern is the hook. Will the medium power be too much for the owner ultrahead or will the medium power not be enough for the Megastrike?

Where you at in Texas? I'm in Granbury.

Any budget in mind?

I bought the aqua bound manta ray hybrid also. I have not got to use it yet. I hope it's as nice as everybody says.

I just bought this today for $500 with the 4 kayak trailer behind it.

I have power pro on one reel and 832 on 2 reels right now. I have 3 reels I need to put braid on when I have time and it will be 832 that I put on them.

That is what I have and they are very nice for the money. Are there better kayaks.....Yes, but out the door for under a grand with a paddle and rudder that is a great price.

Pescador pro is a $500+ kayak. The pescador can be found used and new for $3-400.

I have been using the Grande Bass rattlesnake, Air tail rattler, and Kicker Fish Hightail 11" worm lately. Now a stupid question, why do you choose the worms you choose other than "they catch fish"? Im willing to bet that if I got bit on a green pumpkin Grande Bass Rattlesnake that I probably would have got bit on a green pumpkin _______ (insert any worm listed above). Im really curious. Im guessing some people use what they do because they can buy local. I like the garlic used with Grande Bass and how the Kicker Fish is big and floats. What is your reason? I might have to try something else......

AJ, I like things I can order from Walmart (when not placing a $50 order for free shipping at other places) and it looks like I can do that with the VMC Boxer Jig Head. Are these light wire hooks? Would they be ok throwing on a medium spinning rod?

It will leave you wanting to upgrade as fast as you can, but it will get you out on the water. At the least try to get a kayak with an elevated seat. About the cheapest one I have ran across are some used Pescador Pros for $500-600. Next best bang for your buck is a Vibe Sea Ghost 130 at right under a $1000 (but comes with rudder and paddle). Make sure to include a life jacket (I have the NRS Chinook and love it).

I had my daughter setup using the Yum Money Heads from Walmart (b/c I did not want to place an online order for different heads) with the 4.25 Lunker City Grubsters. She caught fish, but I think next time I will get the Swimmin' Ribsters or something a little skinnier to see if they have better action (or something that somebody recommends on this post). I use braid to a fluorocarbon leader and I don't see why 7-10 lb fluoro would not work. If you keep losing fish with the 7 then bump it up a few lbs.
