  1. Green pumpkin is the only one I have tied on, and at the rate I am crushing I don't see a reason why not. I lost my last 1/10oz and had to use some 1/6. Snagged a little more, and had less strikes on the fall. But it still performed well. What sizes have you guys been using? Do the weedless heads help at all? Submerged wood has been tricky to say the least!
  2. I tried it earlier this spring and was disapointed with the results. Tried it again today on a whim and it crushed. Every cast felt like it resulted in a fish. Really glad I gave it another try. Now to find a way to snag less...
  3. First, thanks that is a very helpful response. Second, I can call and just exchange it? I am assuming you are saying that it is worth the effort?
  4. If I upgrade my crappy lowrance 3x to lets see a helix with side imaging, I will need a new transducer? And does the new electronic come with one?
  5. I have a 1 year old Pro 170 and the 40hp Mercury runs perfect. I however agree with the poster who said get the 175. I seriously under-estimated the difference(I also under-estimated how much I would use it and was afraid of making a bigger investment). It will ride better in tough waves, and give you a little more space. Plus it would allow a larger outboard if you so choose. I am going to enjoy mine for a few more years and then upgrade to bigger boat.
  6. Androscoggin has several launches in that area with waters that are very fishable by a kayak. The one in Turner & the one one in lisbon come to mind.
  7. How did you fish the Jig? I have a tourney this weekend and have had a real tough go of it so far.
  8. Thanks for all the advice. I don't have a lot of experience with jerkbaits, but I will add some to the arsenal. I think I am on the right track, but not being patient enough. We will see what happens this upcoming weekend!
  9. This is the first full season of having my own boat. Thus I am not very familiar with fish patterns for so soon after ice out. Any basic suggestions? We managed 2 trout today on wacky rigged senkos, lol. But not much else. My normal body of water is small,2 miles long max depth 35', very clear water. Temp 44 degrees. Tried: -Slow rolling spinner baits in 8-10' -wacky senkos various depths -Jigs (probably not using them properly) Thanks!
  10. Mine are in my basement on these http://www.amazon.com/Extreme-Max-1229-4000-Intelligent-Maintainer/dp/B00K72C1T4/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1454249751&sr=8-3&keywords=battery+maintainer
  11. Unless you have the skills to remove that gas tank options are limited. Best you can is remove the current battery trays and swap them with a dual 27 and a single 24. Somewhere on this forum there is a great pic of the setup.
  12. The only issue I have found with my new Tracker is that the group 24 cranking battery is utter crap. The first day I tried to run livewell with minimal outboard time I drained my battery enough that the outboard didn't crank. I had no issue using the 45# trolling motor to push the boat around. I would wager if I had it on 5 all day fighting big wind or current I might change my tune... The decision I have been pondering all winter is whether to put in a beast group 24 crank and save space for 2 group 27s down the road on trolling motor(to extend battery life) or upgrade to a larger cranking. But in any event you will want to dump those stock batteries before you end up jumping you cranking battery like I did. Thank god I put cables in one of the storage compartments.
  13. Thanks, that was my logic. One this year and one next if the pivot drives me insane. I think if I am smart about how I place it, that should minimize some of the swing.
  14. Anyone ever run their boat with only one? Does just 1 pole weaken the holding power, as in can 1 pole hold the boat in place?(of course it will be much more prone to pivoting) 17' Aluminum Tracker if it matters Thanks
