  4. ok cause i really like mono and i fish a lot of clear water. Im assuming its harder to catch bass with mono because of its stretchyness
  5. what pound test do you usually use?
  6. anyone use monofilament for frogging?
  7. what kind of fishing line should i be fishing during the spawn?
  8. i sadly lost it in some brush this morning BUT i at least caught 6 bass on it all ranging from 1 to 4.5 pounds and it still looked and worked great. Going to BP later today to pick up some more!
  9. try the bass pro shops stik o's they are much cheaper come in all colors and sizes and are MUCH MORE DURABLE!!!!!!!! Yamamoto senkos last me about 1 fish 2 if I'm lucky even when i use the rubber bands around them to don't hook. They are too stiff and tend to break easily STIK O 4 LYFE
  10. i usually catch em on swimbaits
  11. great little sunfish. Kind of like a soft plastic frog. picked one up sunday and I'm already catching some toads with it
  12. the bill broke of on mine and I'm not even sure how. I'm not a big fan of berkley just because their products for me always break or don't work. I can though make an exception for the flickr shad and the money maker
  13. shakey head all the way! pre spawn bass are still coming up from the deader waters and i find it very effective. I usually just use a zoom shakey head worm in green pump color and slowly jerk it along the bottom. (seems to work best near cover)
  14. Abu garcia black or silver max
  15. Anyone used any of the r2s spittin wa frogs?
  16. Its amazing i would recomend twitching your rod around as you swim it along, makes it look injured. Great for bouncing on bass beds too!
  17. Check out the z9 perch! Its a bp brand lure and it works great. Best swimbait for 12 bucks. When its swimming int he water i can't tell it apart from a real bluegill
  18. Hula poppers never let me down
  19. Lake Wylie is great in the summer not for bass for catfish. Every time i try to bass fish i always end up with a big ol channel cat on the end of my line. Best lake around is Norman! i catch some huge largemouth and smallmouth in the summer time!!!!
  20. the spawn is at least 2 months away still. Here in NC the snow has cleared and a warm front has hit. The pond near me have been producing HUGE fish as they are trying to take advantage of the warmth and feed. I usually throw a shaky head worm or a senko around cover and usually that produces bites. Try throwing some berkley money maker senkos (wacky rigged). Best bait this time of year!!!!!!
  21. you are very lucky my friend the bass fishing is soooooooo good. Caught some toads when i visited miami
  22. I have used tennis racket tape on my catfish rods when i need more grip, works great. Keep in mind the material your rod is coated with cause sometimes it will leave a sticky mess!
  23. I use an ultra light ugly stick with an Abu Garcia cardinal Sx series reel. I like the ultra light setup because you can really feel the bites. The whole setup cost me roughly 70 bucks but its great. Trust me I fish senkos everyday and smoke big bass bass on em. I also kind of doubted the ultra light setup at first but I've caught a 5.5 pounder on it no problem. (also have you tried the berkley havoc money maker senkos? They are extremely durable and catch fish every time no matter what for me)
  24. Pick up a Abu Garcia black max baitcaster runs about $80 most places and it's amazing. Best bang for your buck! I've had mine for a year+ and have hauled some big bass in with it no problem! Posibly best rod/reel combo out there
