  1. Is there any blanks being made that are close to the BCR 803 GLX blank? I want to build a 6'8'' Texas rig rod. I am also fine with buying a 7' blank and cutting it down to 6'8''. Any suggestions?
  2. Come on man, give us the details! What kind of blank and guides are on that rod?
  3. St Croix hands down. Kistler doesn't even use Fuji components, instead they use lower quality Batson components. The Avid has a Fuji reel seat and Alconite guides. Avid is a great rod for the money.
  4. I use to own the Zillion, but I now own the Revo STX. IMO, the STX outperforms the Zillion in all phases. The STX is smoother, has more drag output, and cast a lot further/easier. The new Revo's are some very impressive little reels. It's a wolf in sheep's clothing.
  5. I recently sold my last curado (use to own 5 of them). Now I have 4 Revo STX reels. The new Revo's are much lower in profile than the Curado 200D. The Revo's also have high performance German bearings in them and they will easily out cast the Shimano. The Revo STX is one of the best casting reels I have ever fished. Plus, the Revo has a monster drag output. IMO, there isn't anything that tops the Revo STX.
  6. I love my Shimano's, but $$ for $$ the Revo wins hands down. There is NOTHING in the STX price range that can come even remotely close to going cast for cast with it. There is nothing in a low-profile that even comes close to the drag output of the Revo's. I couldn't believe how smooth and powerful the STX is until I got my first one. Now I have another one on order! ;D
  7. I'd go with the MBR 782 in the GLX or the IMX
