  1. Zoom Ultravibe Speed Worm, Red Bug Whopper Plopper Trick worm/Shim-E-Stick Lipless crankbait squarebill Planning to play a little more with ned rig, drop shot, underspin.

    Great job. Congrats.
  3. I been trying to pare down some. Pack 3 Plano boxes and a gallon bag of soft plastics in a duffel bag. Fished with 3 baitcasters and 2 spinning rods all day yesterday. It’s not the end of the world to retie on the boat. A palomar and an improved clinch are pretty easy to tie. There are 3-4 rods in the garage that hadn’t been out in awhile. Couple are spooled with braid and will get used for punching/frogging this fall.
  4. Fished the Foodland Tournament on the Big G this morning. 200 boats. Pic doesn’t do it justice. We caught short fish all day. Couldn't put anything together
  5. Good grief. What’d that beast weigh.
  6. I wasn’t going to buy another rod and reel. Had fought it hard. But I sold a rod and reel. And the Lew’s Mach II spinning combo was on sale for $120. And I love the Winn grips. So an order was made. Looking forward to throwing finesse baits on the new rig. Should be here by end of week.
  7. Cut him loose until he grows up.
  8. Yellow trick worm.
  9. Welcome back. Word of warning: it’s an addictive puppy.
  10. If you can, pre-fish. I went in cold on the Big Bass Tour last year on my home lake. I’ll not do that again.
  11. Caught 2 on RedEye Shad in last few months. You think you got something decent for just a second, then they start that roll. Caught one on an ultralight with a cricket bluegill fishing the other evening. Little ultralight held up good.
  12. First Whopper Plopper Bass of the season for me. Sent pic to a buddy, who said “That little guy is fighting outside his weight class.”
  13. My latest purchase: Scottsboro Tackle Swimbaits.
  14. It’s bluegill/shellcracker season on Guntersville. Wife and I caught 110 in 2 hours after work. This shellcracker is biggest one wife ever landed..
  15. I been thinking about selling some of the stuff I never catch with - spinnerbaits, chatterbaits, jigs. I like Texas rigs, lipless crankbaits, Whopper Plopper. I’m going to give the shaky head an honest shot this year.
  16. My great nephew Jace and a nice Guntersville 5-pounder. It was slow for us Sunday afternoon. Weather has been up and down. But spending time with the little man and his dad and this fish made it eventful.
  17. I’d take a look at Xpress. They have a great reputation due to the Hydrolift hull. My next boat will be a big Xpress.
  18. Usually but not always.
  19. Glock 43 for me. But it’s not a true pocket pistol. It’s an inside the waistband pistol.
  20. I’m about to fish my small cranks like Bandit 100s on a *** Defy MH ($59 at Tackle Warehouse) with a Shimano Spirex. I know a lot of guys don’t like the trigger spinning reels but you can fish them faster than manually opening the bail. And cranking to me is about covering water.
  21. I don’t think the bass care if your boat and truck match.
  22. Threw the Redeye in Sexy Shad last fall and had some fun. The Cordell Spot is a very economical option though.
  23. I have a Sienna too. Just getting started putting it through its paces. I like it so far. An inshore guide I went out with had them on his rods and said they held up well in the salt. He had them spooled with Momoi.
  24. I’m really surprised how many guys on here like short rods. When I got back into fishing seriously nearly 4 years ago, anything more than a 6-foot spinning rod felt totally foreign to me. Then I got a 6-6 spinning rod and loved it and I started playing with baitcasters. My first baitcasting rods were 6-6. Then I bought a couple 7 footers then a 7-3 that I just love. Just acquired a couple 7-6 rods and I imagine an 8 footer is in my future. I love the long rods. You can get a bait way out there and the length helps in playing fish too, especially with a parabolic action. Make mine a 7-3 to 7-6 every day. I do own a 5-6 ultralight for panfish but hadn’t used it in awhile because I favor the 6-6.
  25. Don’t know about the Diawa but I have a Trion and I like it. Just finished one season with it. It’s nice and smooth. I’m not convinced it’s not a better reel than the President.
