Here's mine: My brother hated to fish (the last 27 years of his life). He asked to fish with me a few months ago. I taught him how to fish and he nailed his first bass on a Zoom lizard. We went 4 weekends in a row and he caught a few more... Now he loves to fish! The bad part of the story is... he moved to Alaska (for work). The great part is... he asked me to visit and fish for species I have never caught before!

Rub it in!!! Start with the safety equipment and move on from there. Most state websites have the required safety devices which are mandatory for every boat!

Take him fishing (to your most productive fishing holes)! The best place to learn is on the water, especially when the bite is on! Teach him the basics first and give him follow-up material to reinforce the basics. Good luck!

I'm not a snake expert but... are you sure it was a cotton mouth? It doesn't resemble a cotton mouth from the pics I have seen. It looks more like a water snake.

Mudfish can definitely make a bad day of bass fishing a little better. They will hit mostly anything you throw for bass! I have caught a few on buzzbaits too!

Doesn't QC happen at the factory in which the reel was manufactured? I thought they only checked a percentage of the reels off the assembly line too?

I agree with Catt. My 2 biggest bass this year (7-11 and a 6-8) came in a small cove where 5 small gators live. They usually come off the bank to visit. Normally when they snap at the lure, you don't hook them. If one does happen to hold on, I usually ease them to the side of the boat, touch their nose with the paddle, the gator opens his mouth (t-rigged lizard pops out) and swims away (quickly). Don't get me wrong, these little guys are only 2-3 feet. The bigger gators won't let you get within 40-50 feet of them. I would imagine killing a gator without a license could get you a hefty fine and possibly some time in jail. Oh... I forgot... When the fishing sucks, those gators can be very entertaining! Remember, you are sharing time on the water in their habitat. It was their home before it became your fishing hole!

BOOYAH... I feel your pain. Some A$$hole stole my wife's Coach purse today. All her credit cards, check books, id... And they broke the window in her car. None of which is covered by insurance cause of our high deductible! > I hope that B@$T@rd gets run over by a semi today!
