  1. I used to when I lived in Nebraska and loved it. We caught a lot of crappie, bluegill, some bass and a few cats. I really don't miss it though, I hate cold weather.
  2. What mattm and Long Mike said. Check out Lake Fork Marina web site to get a complete list of guides. Hiring a guide the first day is almost a must. He will get you on the current pattern instead of you spending 2 days trying to figure it out. Make sure you get a 'professional' full time guide. There are a lot of weekend wonders that 'guide' on Fork in the spring. There's probably a dozen or so that have been doing it successfully for a long time. Do your research and good luck.
  3. FORK during the week, but not on weekends in March. Have made the trip from Kansas 40+ times in the last 15 or so years. The other bonus is that there are tons of other good lakes within an hour or so from there if the wind gets up or it is too crowded. Go to east Texas, you won't regret it!
  4. Garage. Boat, rod racks, shelves and shelves of plastic boxes, pegboard it hang excess plastics, hoods, etc. On one side a 20' workbench for painting and pouring with just enough room for a beer fridge.
  5. I know there are probably better methods but I always used a pencil eraser and it worked well for me.
  6. I started with crank baits a few years ago. Initial 'starter' kit was like 30 bucks. I've got 4 - 5 hundred dollars worth of 'stuff' and haven't made a crank bait in a couple of years. About 6 weeks ago I got the starter kit for making soft plastics for something lik $39.00. When my current order gets here today, I'll already be in for about $500.00 and I have a list in the garage of other necessities I need to order. Yep, you're screwed! ;D
  7. I've been the same way all day. This and several other forums is about all I've got accomplished today!
  8. Ding, ding, ding, we have a winner. Very good, Glen.
  9. Alright, the Bosch Icons it is. Thanks.
  10. Rain-X has been the best of the bad for me.
  11. I've tried them all, as far as I know, and they all are crap. Anco, Michelan, napa, etc. Anyone found one that they are real happy with?
  12. did you have to pay to launch??? $2.00, yearly passes go on sale today.
  13. Well, didn't make LaCygne Friday, so I decided to fish it yesterday in the snow. 3 LM on swimming senko, and 2 whites on a trap. Nothing too exciting but at least I caught something.
  14. Saw 17 of these critters on the four mile drive to work this morning. I don't think the rut is quite over yet.
  15. Not at LaCygne, you just have to pay a launch fee of 3 or 4 dollars or a yearly one for 15, I think. You can put in up the river and not pay anything though. At Wolf Creek (Coffee County) you have to wear a life jacket at all times and if the wind picks up too much they will page you on the pager they give you when you check in and you have to get off the lake. Too many drownings a few years back.
  16. Yes it is. Hopefully, I'm going to give it a try this Friday for the first time this fall.
  17. You've got some good uns there.
  18. Senile1, as much as I hate it, there is no, I repeat, NO possible way Moo doesn't win the north. And yes, you probably won't beat OK, Texas, or even Tech in the Big XII championship game. It's just too bad the Big XII eats it's own because I believe we have 3 out of the top 4 teams in the country. 16 team playoff would end up with a minimum of three Big XII teams in the semi-final games.
  19. Finally down to $1.99 this morning.
  20. Awesome and sobering footage.

Thank you to all the men and women who have or who are serving in our armed forces. :flag
  22. "Umph" or "look out!" Because when I set the hook it either bruises my ribs or a peanut is flying at or over the boat.
  23. I'll try a couple more.
