Favorite Structure to Fish?
Pretty much wherever the fish are. But, if I have a choice, docks are my favorite. Crank baits, spinner baits, buzz baits, spooks, then flip and skip a jig n pig, skip senkos, swimming senkos and flukes. Did I say I like docks?

texas rig
Run the hook through the plastic then squeeze the plastic so you can push the point of the hook back in.

Lake Fork
Go to the public ramp by Rainswood Marina on FM 515. It's on the north side of the lake. Go east under the bridge and Birch is your first big cove on the north. While you're up there, past the power lines, through the cut close to the east bank, go another 400 yards and there will be a big 'open' rectangular area to the left. Work the north tree line with jigs, blades and cranks, work the open field with traps and c-rigs, then work the area between there and the north bank. Those cedar trees and grass flats can be awesome this time of the year. Good luck.

Fishing and Golf (POLL)
I think it is extreamly difficult at least from my experience. I played on the mini tours a couple of years after I got out of college. Maybe fished once every couple of weeks. Then about 20 years ago, I fished every bass tournament I could for a couple of years and played golf about once every two weeks. The last 10 or so years, I either concentrate on golf OR fishing for a particular year. If I split my time, I can shoot in the mid 70's and still do pretty good at fishing. If I fish a lot and don't play much golf I go to the upper 70's. If I play a lot of golf I can get it to par or better most of the time but my fishing, or catching skills deminish. Besides that, they are both expensive and require quite a bit of windshield time. Lately, I concentrate on fishing and just play in beer scrambles and maybe one or two other tournaments.

Nebraska Bassers
Lived in Neb. City for four years. Lots of great farm ponds around there and over on the Iowa bottoms. Great fishing memories in that area. I think I still have the biggest bass ever weighed at PaaPs..8#. something.

2008 NCAA Men's Basketball NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP
Thanks bassboy, not all fans are goobers for most schools. Now, you didn't happen to call any of the KU fans after 'the streak' was broken at Allen Fieldhouse West did ya? Look at it this way, it's great for the Big VIII + 4.

basser turned golfer and back
You're not alone. Started fishing when I was 4 and started playing golf when I was 5. After college I became a Class A, PGA member, was golf pro at three different clubs, played in mini tour evernts, state opens, and a couple of PGA Tour events. I started fishing again to get away from the golf course. Then for several years I would fish real hard one year and play golf real hard the next year. It's really tough to do both with some sort of expertise at the same time. Now, I mostly fish. My skill level in fishing actually increases with age, where my skill level in golf has pretty much gone to the toilet. I really don't enjoy strugling just to break 80 from the back tees, but I can drive 6 hours to Fork, get my butt kicked, and get up and try it again the next day. It's a great country to be able to have this problem, though!

Nice fish, I was there Sunday morning too. Wow! Those were some good sized rollers. I was glad to make it back in with my 17' Tracker.

East Texas Weekend
Left SE Kansas Wed. afternoon to fish a few days. Thursday AM. Fished Tyler State Park. 64 acres. Wind was howling. Only caught 3 fish. Fish #1 was on a red trap in about 3' of water near the ramp about 15" long. #2 was between there and the dam on a carolina rigged ring fry in about 12' of water and weighed about 3#. Fish #3 was caught off the boat dock by the marina/store. It hit a black n blue jig n pig in 9' of water and weighed 8.7#. Thursday PM. Went to Hawkins and caught 4. All were about 2.5# on jig n pig. And several pickerell on traps and spinner baits. Friday. Lake Fork 0 fish untill 4:00. From four to 8:30 ended up with 17. Two over 6#, 1 over 5# and most of the rest between 2.5 and 4#'s. Every fish was caught in 4' or less water, on a black n blue fleck swimming senko with the tail dipped in chartruse spike it. I was slow swimming it with a 3/16oz. weight. In Williams and Little Mustang Creeks. Saturday. Lake Holbrook. Caught 15 fish with the largest one being 5.04 all on swimming senko. All fish were shallow and most were in or next to the reeds. Sunday. Fork. Fished from 8:00 till 10:30 before the wind and storm blew me off the lake. Caught 5 fish with the largest being 6.40#, again all shallow and all on swimming senko. Got home to see the last 26 seconds of Davidson/KU game. Overall a great trip for #'s and decent quality.

Bed Fishing Problem/ Post Spawn
They've already spawned around OP? The water temp down here is still in the high 40's to low 50's. I'm confused.

2008 NCAA Tournament - Bassresource pool & bracket challenge
I heard to make it more fair, that for the next 25 years the first rounds will be in Topeka, Ks., the second rounds will be in KC Kansas, then the finals will be in KC Mo. This will serve a two fold purpose; 1. Let North Carolina and UCLA get to ride an airplane in March. and 2. Let people in Missouri actually see basketball in March and April.

Hello from the new guy
Welcome to the forum. Great place to learn. Be sure to check out the fishing/boating articles. They will answer a lot of questions, but if not, don't be afraid to ask.
