  1. Wow, that's crazy! And my wife thinks that all the time I spend on fishing forums is wasted.
  2. I just get a lot of windshield time driving to Texas and back several times in the winter.
  3. Don't count out a certain basketball school that is currently 10 - 0. Probably won't, but IF we fisnish 13 - 0, I don't think the BCS can keep us out of the NC game.
  4. I think I would start out on the north side at the bridge. Looks like some public access there. Can't really tell about vegitation, but start with either a black spook, buzzbait, or toad. Then later, if you can, throw spinnerbaits, some kind of chrome and _______ trap, and shallow running cranks. Finally go to senkos, baby brush hogs, ring fries in some kind of blue and/or watermelon red colors. Never fished Limestone, but just going by what usually works down there this time of the year. Hopefully someone that fishes it a lot can help you more. Good Luck, Ring Fry
  5. Why do cows play 'follow the leader' to nowhere?

Welcome, and a great place to help to become a better bass fisherman. Lots of good advice and great people.
  8. I lived in Neb. City for four long years one decade. Being a KU fan was fun during basketball but was pretty embarassing during football. I do believe Dr. Tom would run up the score some but usually just to make a point. Either someone said something derogatory or played them a close game the year before. As far as KU running up the score, I think we only scored 7 points in the 4th quarter. 99% of the Ne. fans were great (not necessarily including students). All schools, including KU, have their a-holes and they are usually the ones that get noticed.
  9. Matt, no fewer than 25 players on KU's roster are from Texas including Todd Reesing from near Austin. C'mon man, jump on board!!
  10. Matt, we fished Fork Monday. Had one almost 6# and three others in the 3# range. Buddy caught one. Biggest one on jig n pig in Williams, gave up about 1:00 and went to Quitman and caught another 5 or 6 a piece. It was definately tough with 4 days of blue bird skies and north east winds.

Welcme Dennis. Great forum, good people and lots of info.
  12. I'm going to dress up like a bass fisherman at Fork in the morning, then as a long distance driver in the afternoon heading back to Kansas.
  13. Matt, probably be going through there about noon, depending on how much time I spend at Brannons, on the way to Tyler. My buddy doesn't get off work down there till 3:00. Will fish Tyler on Sat., probably Jacksonville on Sun. then Fork on Mon/Tues. I'll PM my cell, maybe meet for lunch if you come in at lunch!
  14. What's an off-season? Even though I'm in Kansas, I fish year around. Because of my job I fish more from September through March than I do in the summertime. Usually make several trips to Texas (beginning this Sat.) through March. Will fish a bunch of strip pits in the winter as well as a couple of power plant lakes, each of which is about an hour from here.
  15. RW, I'm leaving Saturday morning for Fork. If you want to pre-pay your bet for the Huskers and Fighting Manginos football game, you're welcome to tag along! ;D

Welcome aboard! Great site, great people, HATE ICE!
  17. I think (hope) aTm will be a good game. OSU depends on which team they show up with, Ne. and ISU "should" be wins but ya never know! The tiggers, however could beat us like a stepchild. Although our 5' 10" QB has had a good year thusfar, Daniels is scarry good. Normally this time of the year I am counting down the days till the first roundball game, but this year is wierdly exiting for football.
  18. Matt, early October is gone :-? . Just kidding. Hopefully will be down there sometime late next week. I'll PM ya when I know for sure.
  19. How many different states do you currently have fishing licenses in? I currently have Kansas (resident), Missouri, Oklahoma, and Texas.
  20. Flat surface, closed mouth, and pinched tail.
  21. You took the words right off my keyboard! ;D
  22. MASH Hogan's Heroes All in the Family
  23. At work, I like to tell them to "hang on a minute let me get to my office phone". I'll put them on hold then go back to work outside.
  24. Good grief! Buffs beat the Sooners, kitties beat the horns that leaves the Hawks and the Tiggers the only undefeated teams in the Big XII. Kinda makes next weeks game for y'all more of a survival than to see who's tops in the league. I have a bad feeling the kitties will hand it to us next week after watching them destroy Texas. Oh well, basketball is only a month away.
  25. I can't tell you how many bags of horny toads I've been through this summer. I usually use 5/0 gamy and buzz it over vegitation, wood, or through pads. I hold the rod tip high till I get to the edge of whatever I'm fishing then stop, drop the rod, let it sink and hold on. There is also a hook with a wedge on the front that looks like it would help it stay up better but haven't tried it yet. Most of my fish have been caught while buzzing it on top.
