  1. Just picked up a shimano exage rod yesterday for $99 and got to throw it a few times in the pond before everything froze up. Pretty impressed... Very light rod balanced well with a lews ss1 all Fuji components seemed reel sensitive for the little time I got to spend with it. The handle is farely comfy for palming a reel. And I really like the hybrid length mine came in 7'2" mh fast. After looking on shimano I'm very interested to see the cb line in this series.I got it from the shimano rep at a local shop supposedly they are not supposed to be fully available til after the classic. All n all I'm very pleased so far. Anyone looking to fil a void in there rod locker for cheap should take a look at these
  2. Just hit the Jack pot at wal Mart lol all there truturn hooks were $1 a pack took all the panfish ones they had bought 15 packs should be set for awhile now
  3. No problem frosty anytime I can help a fellow angler I will that's why I posted this I
  4. There is a decent gap between lid and compartments so smaller things will go every where I will however be picking up the 3600 size for weights ... U may want to look at the new gamakatsu terminal box I havnt used one but the foam insert is def something worth checking into as far as the 5 ewg hooks fitting I'll give u the measurements of the width of each channel 1 15/16" and at handle it's 7\8" but that's just one small section of the whole box
  5. Hey guys just wanted to give a review of the Plano 3771 thin box I just got in the mail...yes I ordered it from tackle warehouse so no it wasn't free...At first glance man what an amazing idea 5 channels instead of four look at all the goodies I can store. The latches are the good kind not molded directly on so the shouldn't wear out as fast as the old ones did. I really like the cds system they used so u can basically make each individual slot the size u want which is why I ordered in on top of it being thinner and having 5channels. So there's the pros now the cons the outside is the same as a regular box as far as length and width but the inside is actually 3/16" smaller in width which really made the box useless for what I wanted it for on top of that the deviders are very thick and I shaped so u lose a lot of space there too. The angle deviders are neat but I havnt used them yet. My biggest complaint of all is since the box is so thin I personally don't think it should have the handle built into it but that's my complaint with all Plano boxes it's wasted space lots of times. Especially in this box since it has 5 channels making each one of them narrower then adding the handle makes for a very small compartment when done.....will I use this box yes is it the end all solution to most tackle storage solutions no. And I really had high hopes for this box to be a newgreat jerkbait box well I guess it's back to the drawing board in search of that perfect storage container.
  6. Quite a few guys recommending urs blue time to start selling them put me on the waiting list for a couple let me know what I owe ya
  7. Gotta love drunk in whims...I only suggested than bc they are what I use and actually switched from "bottom end" st croixs and just feel its a better rod at a better price. They are honestly gonna be hard to beat at that msrp and even there champ series of rods at there msrp
  8. When or if u send them back to daiwa is it daiwa in USA or some other country I've also been looking at theballistic and procyon
  9. Great video Glenn
  10. I use. A lews tournament metal for spy baits an
  11. So this year I am gearing up to learn the chatterbait and how to really apply it...I'm a big fan of specific application rods and had what I thought would be a good rod to throw them on (dobyns fury 733 or 734) but yesterday after speaking with a man at dobyns he suggested a champion 736 cb glass. Kinda the opposite end of the spectrum from which I was leaning so what is everyone's go to chatter rod and why do you like it.. Should I go glass glass composite or full graphite.I'll be throwing them with a lews tournament mb in a 6 gear on 14lb sniper or cxx Also Ild like to stay under the 250 mark on the rod if you have any recommendations
  12. 742 dobyns champ extreme hp. Just picked one up this year paired it with a ci4 and fell in love. Don't tell my wife but if I had to choose between holding it or her sheld be sol it ways basically nothing and very sensitive I swear ucan feel a water flea sneeze on the bait
  13. Try a neko rig it was very good to me last year ... I don't use worm weights either I just cut barb off old crappie jigs
  14. Got ya well these few packs were free lol I have some pit bosses as well I'll def be givin them a try thanks for the advice
  15. I got some new yamamoto swim baits to try out behind one pretty beefy profile with a segmented body and more low profile boot tail the local shop gave them to me to try out...guess they are new this year I don't even see em on tackle warehouse a lot bigger profile then what comes with them a lot like what u are going for It's called a zako
  16. As the title states what's your favorite bladed swim jig and trailer and why mine would have to be a chatter bait because it's the only one I've ever fished lol every year I pick a New technique to try and master and this year it's these
  17. Same here all garbage or samplepacks ... They do have the same bucco rods on clearance from last year marked down a hole whopping $2 from 129
  18. Good to know I passed I passed on quite a few good deals on 13 and shimano due to the felt big in my hand compared to my lews reels. Lews was the first bait caster I ever purchased and always felt good with a good price so I always stuck with them just fig I would give daiwa a try with everyone raving about them guess I'll try one on a rod at b pro before I buy it to see how it fits I always Palm my reels with 3fingers above trigger with my thumb wrapped around so Ild be very uncomfortable holding it any other way and would fish a rod if I couldn't hold it the way that just comes natural at this point ...can't teach and old dog New tricks or an old fisherman
  19. Anyone ever have issues with the t wing failing to work on a daiwa. I've always been a lews guy myself but like trying new things every now and then and am debating a a tatula type r or just sticking with the old tried and true lews
  20. Ok still not seeing one that suspends or a fast float u showed a jdm and usdm nothing to back up that there are fast float slow float and suspending i to vision110 so back to my original question has anyone else ever noticed some of these baits suspend and some dont also I'm not comparing 110+1 to 110 Jr's or 110fx they are all regular vision 110 usdm
  21. So I went over to tacklewarehouse and can't seem to find an option for slow float fast float etc so how do u know which one it is when u buy a vision 110 is it based on the color or what...I'm confused. Do u mean u can get slow float fast float suspend by getting different versions of a 110 like the 110 Jr vs a 110...just real curious as I'm kinda new to megabass products and all of mine are regular i to vision 110 s with various suspend a float baits... Also I am not trying to bash megabass at all they do catch fish just seems weird u say there is an option that I can't seem to choose when purchasing and weather they are supposed to suspend vs float is a big deal as to where I will start throwing them because I've always been cautious about throwing them around trees do to I assumed they suspended so they wouldn't float up out of them also I've always leaned more towards a floater in very weedy areas later in spring through summer
  22. I did not know that thanks for the insight learn something new every day. They sure do catch fish just threw me off when all of them acted different
  23. So I got a new vision 110 today... Afewweeks ago I purchased a few duo jerkbaits as well which I had a chance to use due to abnormally warm weather and the suspend at about a 45° angle I assumed it was due to the extremely cold water temps...so back to today I got home to put the New mega bass in my box and figured wth and did a tub test with the duo's so the water was more spawning temp nothing changed on the bait except now they are slowrisers instead of suspending... Now here's the kicker I fig with wasted some money So I grabbed one of the mega to see what it did to compare the two exact same thing 45° angle and the suspending bait floats3 out of 10 suspend. Now megabass is a premium bait so it should be a little more consistent then this. Has anyone else ever really che ked out there megabass and find the baits all differ in suspend or float they still catch fish so I'm not about to change a thing I'm just curious if we r paying premium prices and getting not so premium baits
  24. Buy a dobyns fury ull be better off...$109 and backed by lifetime warranty
  25. The problem with planos is you spend $25 on a jerkbait and throw it in one and it gets banged up cause the boxes and slots are huge even in a 3701 slim and to put just one bait in each slot wastes a lot of space too the should seriously start making a super slim version just for jerk baits shimano and falcon both used to shimano stopped and Plano bought falcon and won't continue to make them...shimano can still be had on eBay but ur still gonna spend around $50 on a box to hold 18
