Megabass vision 110 problem
not sure if tungsten is magnetic but you could try a strong magnet to try and get it to move

Cheap drop shot rig
for a reel im going to suggest a brand.. i prefer lews reels. but honestly all the top brands make decent gear. go to dicks or BP or cabelas and check them out in your hand and find the one you think fits best. gear ratios i prefer a slower reel for my drop shotting rod cause i also use it for tubes and sencos so the slower reel helps me keep in contact with bottom i have a hard time doing this with the faster reels

lol northern smallie water in indiana never heard of such a thing...best lake around with a chance at a smallie that i know of is clear lake in fremont(steuben county) as far as boat rentals lake james comes to mind by angola great fishing if you dont mind all the pleasure traffic, ild reccomend hitting it on like a tuesday or wed. there is also big turkey which has been known to spit out some decent smallies occasionally its over in stroh

Bass Lures by Seasons

Deep diving jerkbaits in summer
yes it works fantastic. just watch your depth on the bait and watch your depth of the tops of weeds and you will do great. the concept i use is like most guys say tick the tops. sometimes you can find a good channel in the weeds between the primary and secondary weed lines these can be a deadly bait my favorite two deep divers are the staysee 90 and the kvd j300 deep

(Un)official Hoosiers Thread
i personally think it is look at it this way save 20 break the rod buy a new one spend the twenty break the rod have a warranty claim 20 now will save you money in the future. plus i love all my dobyn rods now dont get me wrong dobyns rods arent free to replace but ild rather have to spend 50 for a 110 rod then have to wait for them to go back on sale and purchase it again. in the long run its alot cheaper to spend a little more up front. plus if it breaks from man def they replace it free but most rods dont break this way most get stepped on on door gets shut or somehint to that affect and actually mojos are what i replaced with the dobyns
-
(Un)official Hoosiers Thread
if i had to shoose between the two ild buy a dobyns fury instead itll cost a little more then the black out but less then the mojo and has a better warranty to boot

selecting the right TM thrust power
thanks alot guys guess ill have to save a little more for more power and new wiring ill have to def go with atleast a 24 volt system
-
selecting the right TM thrust power
i am considering purchasing a new TM for my boat(2002 bass tracker pro team 175 w/ a 2008 50hp merc). currently it has the original MG 43lb thrust 12v TM on it. ild really like to stick with a 12v system but if it is really necessary i would be willing to upgrade to a 24 system. im really curious to know if there is a way to figure out what thrust is really necessary. obviously BT thought 43 was enough but i also know its a cheaper model TM to help keep the price down. one guy on here swears by his 80#thrust which is almost double what the original is. i dont want to be under powered if a stronger one wold be better for my rig but at the same time i dont want to over power it either to find out later on i could have saved 200-300 dollars by going with one with a little bit less #thrust i.e. i dont want to get a 54# and find out i should have gotten the 70# or get the 70# and realize i only needed 54#

Help! Lowrance Hds7 Gen3 or Humminbird Helix 9 ?
you know garmin is taking the fresh water fishing scene by storm. i switched from HB to garmin this year and am very impressed with them. im running the echomap chirp series chart plotters with side imaging. they are very user friendly. and they definitely do more then i will ever need them to do atleast at this point but im still learning how exactly to use them. one thing that really swayed me was the lake map capability, a lot of my local lakes i fish(smaller ones) do not have maps available on a HB or Lowrance unit even with after market chips like navionics or lakemaster still none. garmin on the other hand has well ill put it this way i haven't been on a local lake with out one pre loaded on my unit yet. garmin has 17000 lakes pre loaded right on the thing and to top that they can chart a lake if its not there as you go with out having to buy extra software which im still waiting to try i just cant seem to find a lake with out a map lol... since you are looking at that 1100-1400 price range the echomap93 chirp SV is right there at $1199.99. you could even go with a 73sv at the counsel and then grab a striker series with sv and DV for the front of your boat and then link them for a nice little set up and still be at the $1200 range plus for wall eye that striker series unit has a interface like a vexilar or marcum which if you were out jigging them would be deadly. i think no matter what you do you will be happy with what ever unit you decide to purchase since you are looking at higher end units you really get what you pay for these days. as far as which unit is truly better between the HB or Low you might as well ask who makes a better truck ford chevy or dodge its all personal preference. if i were to throw my hat in the ring ild have to really recommend the garmin units atleast make sure you check them out as well before you decide.

Minn Kota or MotorGuide
ya no kidding lol i finally found the info after i posted all that. at that price knowing since i run garmin half the features probably wont work ill pass. ill probably end up with a motor guide x3 or x5. the position lock would be cool i just dont know how much i would ever really use it to have to change half my boats crap and rewire my trolling motor leads im only set up for a 12v system. plust i couldnt bring myself to fork out almost half what i paid for my boat just on a trolling motor.

Minn Kota or MotorGuide
hmm now this is interestingg and ive been thinkin about gettin a new TM too as i think mine is just a little small for my boat any idea when this hybrid will become available for purchase

Froggin Setup for under $350
dobyns fury 735 lews tournament mb 8.3.1 or what ever the 8 speed reel is. this is my setup. i used to run all mojo and am slowly replacing them with dobyns due to its just a better all around rod and at a better price with a better warranty. if you fish frogs like i do that betterwarranty is worth its weight in gold for your throw back rod. im not sure how many i have broken due to it being under anchor cleats

crank baits at night
lol im not that inexperienced just with crank baits exclusively ive fished at night quite a bit i might add its about the only time i can get on some of my home waters with out all the pleasure boaters im just starting to get into crank baits ive always fished jigs buzz baits poppers spooks spinner baits and jerk baits and was just trying to add another trick to my arsenal

crank baits at night
i guess what really intrigued me about this was should i use louder rattling cranks at night or stick with the more silent cranks like i use there during the day. the lake is a sandy bottom glacier lake with wicked steep drop offs with a big sand bar thats only about 6-7 feet deep that runs all the way across the middle. its not a very weedy lake ive had decent success there this year through out the afternoons ive fished it so im planning on starting in these spots (deeper water )and as the evening progresses and the sun goes down and the temp cools i plan on slowly working my way to the shallows
