  1. Welcome aboard!
  2. Very sorry to hear that man. You all will be in my thoughts and prayers. Great news that they found it before it spread though.
  3. Somehow I knew exactly what you're post was gonna say before I even saw it. lol. Yeah, the most annoying thing has to be arriving at the airport on a nice clear sunny day for a 6a. flight to Lake Fork TX and being told you're flight can't leave because of the weather. More to come stay tuned. All US Airways related.
  4. For those who don't know. Lane and her husband were supposed to make it down to Fork but due to some very serious family health problems that came up they couldn't make it. Let's all send some prayers and positive thoughts their way. They could use them. Lane and family, my wife and I are praying for you! Try to keep your heads up.
  5. Safe travels! Hope you guys have as much fun on the way home as you had on the way down. Can't wait to see you all back on the forums!
  6. Congratulations!!! That's no small accomplishment. Good luck in you're future endeavors. Now go do some fishing!! You deserve it.
  7. Welcome aboard!
  8. Good cologne usually works for me. Not too much though, you don't want to drown yourself in it. Oh wait we're talking about fish. my mistake. ;D
  9. I guess you could say I have some kind of advanced cabin fever. I came back from Fork to frozen lakes. Ouch! It's really killing me. After going down and being on such a big lake that I've never fished before I'm really ready to be able to go out on my home lake that I know pretty well and really start practicing on some things I've read over the winter that I want to try. You've made it this long, not much longer know. Just think about all the appreciation you'll have for fishing once you're finally able to get out.
  10. Welcome aboard. You've found the right place to accomplish all you're goals. Have fun and good luck this season.
  11. Never hurts to try anything. That being said. The thing with spinnerbaits is flash and vibration to attract the fish. My personal philosphy is right lure selection and technique are more important than smell to attract fish. I'll use scent to try to keep the lure in the fishes mouth longer but again with spinners I don't think that's as big an issue as other baits because you're not really likely to let a fish swim with the bait in it's mouth, you're more likely to set the hook as soon as you feel the fish (if the hook isn't already set from the hit). I'm no expert so this is just my 2 cents.
  12. Well, left Dallas with Russ and NBoucher at 10a yesterday morning to land in RI at 4p. Was finally able to pull into the driveway this morning at 2a thanks to US Airways. Great service let me tell ya. : Not really a suprise considring US Airways started the trip for us NE guys the exact same way. But anyway that's for another thread. Still pretty jet lagged and tired but wanted to jump on here and let everyone that I met know that it was a pleasure and incredible fun to get to see you guys and gals in person and fish and swap stories and all that good stuff. I'm already psyched about next year and I haven't even caught up on rest from this year yet! For those who didn't get to go, start saving for next right now. If it's anything even close to this year's trip you're not gonna want to miss it. Like Glenn said these guys are even better to meet in person and you could just feel the great sense of friendship every second we were there. For those who don't know the NE crew had a really hard time getting down there and as for myself were pretty wiped out by the time we got there. I got a good day of fishing in then to add to my frustations was sick for a day and a half. Ended up getting another good day of fishing in before I left. Caught some fish but nothing over 3lbs. To add insult to injury US Airways decides to stick it to us again on the way back and caused just as much trouble getting home as it took to get there. Overall after dealing with all this frustation and not really not catching anything Fork size on Fork this is still one of the best fishing trips I've ever had. The fishing really was secondary to meeting and hanging and laughing with all these great people. Can't wait to see the video it's going to be the best one yet and you guys are going to love it. BTW, I think I heard Russ say the release date was Memorial Day Weekend. ;D I guess he's trying to compete with big boys or something, I dunno.
  13. Very fitting end to the mojo. To my knowledge there was no other pics taken with the mojo. I hope it gives Clay all the luck in the world!
  14. Thanks GMAN. I hope for everyone's sake we can all post pics of DD Bass. Wouldn't that be something. N, Sounds like you deserve a big and I have a feeling you're going to have a great one.
  15. Thanks for the well wishes. Well I guess I'll just have to throw 7" and 9" plastics then. ;D Big bait = Big Bass.
  16. Welcome aboard! This is an awesome place. You'll be pleasantly suprised at the huge knowledge base and sense of friendship here.
  17. I was ready the thread about the other kid this morning and was thinking the same thing. I agree with you.
  18. Hawgin, I had that same thing happen except it was only one tooth and was a molar. To this day one of the worst sounds was of the dentist cutting my tooth in half. ugh. They even had to cut a flap in my gum for the hook of the root to pop out. Not fun. Kids take care of your teeth while your young. You'll be glad later in life.
  19. Nice fish and thanks for the report.
  20. That last fish looks like it's taken some of it's eating habits from me. LOL. Seriously those smallies and the LM you caught are some of the most beautiful fish I've seen in while. That second smallie is breathtaking. I love the dark lines around the eye and mouth. Keep at it and Good Luck!
  21. PB or not Congrats! Those are some nice fish.
  22. Nice work. You guys are catching some nice fish. Keep at it and don't be afraid to try different techniques until you find the one that works.
  23. UH OH!!!!! :o Muddy, did you ever secure a projectile? We all set on that end? Hey LongMike I'm not sure about the ties but from the sounds of these guys helmets might not be a bad idea.
  24. Saying that I'm ready to fish would be a HUGE understatement. I haven't done a road trip this big in years and I CAN NOT WAIT! Really looking forward to meeting you guys and gals and I can't believe it's finally here. Getting ready to start packing tonight. Finish up tomorrow night while I'm watching the snow come down. > Then Sat. it's off to RI to meet up with LBH to get ready for the 6a flight on Sunday. Then it's warm and sunny TX! Like LBH said we'll be there around 1 or 2 and I talked to LongMike and he's planning on getting there around the same time I believe. Hey Avid, Buddy I'll be smoking a nice cigar Sunday evening in your honor. Wish you could make it. Hope everythings going o.k.
  25. And the less it will hurt. The older you get the longer it takes for the body to heal. I had mine taken out when I was young and I'm glad I did. It hurt bad enough then. Of course they were all growing in wrong and I had to have them cut out. :
