Hey guys, thanks for the responses so far. Ultimately it'll take me being out on the water testing different lines to see what I'm comfortable with and what I think will match best with whatever rod I end up getting but now I have some food for thought. By all means keep em coming.

So I just finished watching the KVD flipping/pitching DVD. My question is do you think a faster action rod gives you and advantage over a slower action rod when pitching/flipping with fluoro line since it doesn't stretch? I've never really done any pitching or flipping just looking for opinions here.

I don't know about phasing out all their fishing gear but I did hear their phasing out alot of their high end gear and all their high end reels. My Wal-Mart marked quite a few items half off about 2 months ago. Certain selections of high end Lures, Spinners and Soft Plastics and they had all their display reels marked down 25-50%.

Hey LBH as soon as I find em on the Quabbin I'll let you know. I myself have only caught 1 smallie and that was while I was trolling for Walleye. lol I would love to get more experienced catching smallies so hopefully I'll have some luck. I think the Quabbin opens back up in April. The only thing that stinks is I have a narrow flat bottom boat that I wouldn't take out on the Quabbin even if they did allow it, which I don't think they do. I still plan to go out in the rentals just not as much as I'd like to.

Hey what are we doing here. All we need to do is get a hold of the guys at Mercury and see if we can't get in touch with the one that talks in their commercial. Of course he may have a Mercury exclusive contract or something.

Nice pics LBH. I do cold better than heat but man, yesterday was just flat out brutal. It was about 4 below when I went to work at 8a, add the wind to that and it hurt to breathe. That's a bit colder than I can handle. LOL
