  1. This post was from 2009, so I’m guessing not!
  2. Yep, you got it. Online
  3. Just a heads up on the Pflueger reels for sale on their website. I had it price matched to Dicks sporting goods with the $10 off $50 applied. They don’t refund tax back, but I figured $51 for one of the Pflueger Supreme XT lefty is pretty good from somewhere where returns would be easy.
  4. Do those leashes happen to be the ones on amazon for about $10 for 12 of them? Was thinking of grabbing some for my kayak
  5. Holy smokes! Now I know where most of the stock of the online Cabelas stuff on sale went! Was going to pick some up because I don’t have much of a budget, looks like I was too late haha.
  6. Not sure if this is a great deal or not, but Cabela’s has all of the Picasso special FX shock blades on sale for $6.88. Limited styles left https://www.cabelas.com/product/PICASSO-LURES-SPECIAL-FX-SHOCK-BLD/2250061.uts?slotId=0
  7. Hey all! Ran across this today and it works! Pretty much a free $20 if you’ve got a store near you. https://www.ganderoutdoors.com/coupons/20-gift-card.shtml
  8. No, I would be dissatisfied as well! I ordered a couple chatterbait originals, and the hook points were covered with baked on paint. I messaged them, and they replaced them both. I told them I’ll try to clean them off, but wanted their recommendation first. They said acetone would work or just scrape it off, and hopefully not damage the hook point and barb too much. They said if they turn out okay, keep em too. One did and one I can’t get it off, but they still sent me both anyway!
  9. If you do happen to be interested in regular pfd’s, the NRS Chinook is a great one. It’s a high back design meant for kayaking, but I use it for everything. It probably wouldn’t be a bad idea to stop into a local store and see what they have to try on. What works, is comfortable, and fits well for one person maybe be less than ideal for another. Example: A lot of people recommend the Stohlquist Fisherman or Keeper, and I tried a Keeper on and didn’t really like it. Tried on the NRS Chinook and it feels totally different and I like the fit. Might be the exact opposite for a different person
  10. Which model of the ZX do you use?
  11. Seaguar Kanzen looks to be on sale at DSG for pretty good prices!
  12. Wow. My jaw literally dropped when I saw the number 50! Holy monkey that’s a ton!
  13. Thought I could give a little update. Tried throwing the 110 on the rod this last weekend, and it seemed to do okay. I didn’t have to “lob” it, but at the same time, I wasn’t entirely comfortable doing any quick “whip” type casts. It seems as though it’ll do the job for the time being. Eventually I’ll probably have to get something else, but I won’t have any money for that this year!
  14. That’s good to know! Opener is this Saturday so I’m pretty excited, first baitcaster as well! I’ll probably try tossing the 110 on my Tournament ZX just to see how it goes, but probably should try and get a 90 instead
  15. I received a whopper plopper 110 as a gift and don’t even have a rod to throw it on, so maybe I can switch it out for a 90. Still excited to throw it!
  16. X2! Unless you had multiples of one item? Sounds like they shipped you an empty box haha!!
  17. I actually like using a ewg 5/0 (lightwire gammy, not thick superline) on 4”-5” Yum dingers. Solely because the slight increase in weight on one end of the bait when weightless t-rigged gives it an interesting gliding action on the drop. I’ve found that on a couple occasions (only been bass Fishing for a little over a year!) that the bass loved it that way for some reason. Maybe because it looks like it’s “fleeing” instead of just a straight wiggling fall.
  18. I Think what I’ll do is see how it goes and go from there. Thanks for all the input, and maybe I will end up switching to a different rod in the end!
  19. I do live somewhat near to a Cabelas, so that’s definitely a good idea. I just had received a whopper plopper 110 as a gift, and am not sure if I’ll even be able to throw it. I had thought about switching it out for a 90, but I hear the 110 runs much better, so I’d prefer to just keep it!
  20. Alrighty! Do you guys recommend maybe one of the other rods to switch it out with? Maybe the topwater frog?
  21. I ended up with a great deal on a Tournament ZX as my first baitcast rod. I ended up choosing the 7’2” Jig and Worm rod. However, the weight range for it is 3/16-5/8oz, 12-17lb line. I’m curious if it’ll be able to throw a 1oz bait effectively? A 5/8oz on the top end seems pretty low as a lot of 1/2oz jigs I assume are well over 5/8oz when you’ve got a decent trailer on it. It is also rated as Extra Fast action. What do you all think? Does anyone have one and throw a 1oz bait, say a WP110 or bigger jigs on one? I just don’t want to use something that I might end up snapping the tip or it giving me difficulties as it’s my first setup!
  22. If anyone hasn’t gotten any whopper ploppers at academy yet, they are doing 10% off today. Free shipping over $25. Add three to your cart, and with the 20% off stacked, it’s $21.58 for three and the free shipping is applied. That’s $7.19 a piece... can’t beat that!
  23. Just a heads of for those of you that like Trokar hooks, a lot of them are BOGO free at DicksSportingGoods
  24. Hopefully someone here snagged it. I don’t have the money to buy any of these things, but ooooooooh I feed my baitmonkey by letting him enjoy seeing his buddies stuff themselves! Wish I could get a couple ploppers myself, as it looks to be the plopper deal of the year, but it’s a “want” at the moment, and my school expenses are kind of a “need”! Haha, I guess it’s a good thing I’ve learned to be a little smart with my money, as I don’t have a budget for $16+ of ploppers
  25. Here, I’ll save you all a little more at academy on the whopper ploppers. Use code CC201820PCT (found it on Lunkerdeals.com) for an extra 20% off. Brings em to $7.99! Can also pick up a dobyns fury FR705CB for $72! -edit- looks like there’s only one dobyns left. Someone better grab it!
