  4. Last time I checked a Zillion ($260) is in the same category as a Premier ($230). So your assertion is inaccurate. I have a feeling its not a bearing it has to do something with the braking system towards end of cast, not sure if the premier uses a different system than other Revo models. I went through the same issues with the the older version Premiers, I remember I returned the first one to the factory got a new one and experienced same issue and sold it. Why don't my Skeet Reese models do it or my friends SX and S models, i am willing to bet its the braking system. I did oil bearings though with Abu lube.
  5. Must be skunk rutting season!
  6. Scam the scammer, scam scammer has too much time on his hands. They are all idiots IMO!
  7. How far below pad is your prop running? Start at 3 1/2" below pad and experiment in 1/4" increment up or down. Keep on eye on water pressure! What are your current WOT RPMs? You should be within 200 RPMS of Evinrude's recommended WOT for that particular engine, ideally you should run right at the recommended number or a bit over in the winter months, since you lose some RPMs in the Summer's warmer weather. I would assume between 5500-6000, but you need to check. What is the gear ratio on your outboard? This to a degree determines what your starter prop size and pitch should be. (I assume that it was a 1.86/1, so a good prop to start with would be a Raker 3 blade 24" or a 24" 4 blade Powertech TRO4 What's the pitch, number of blades and model of your current prop? Ranger's are a bit portly, but I can tell you that 46 MPH on your particular setup is much less that what you should be running. I bet you can be in the mid 50s at least.

  9. Come on jacks don't count and after about 10 of them in the surf your arm falls off!
  10. Way to go Mike! I had a very similar outing on "the Lake" the week before and after the fabled best bass day of Mike's life, caught over 100 between my partner and I, up to about 5lbs in about 5 hours. Best numbers in a short period was about 30 bass in 30 minutes in a local rock pit, nothing over 2lbs though. Also had a great Everglades outing this past year, where we stopped counting after about 50 fish, but nothing over 2lbs. Need to go to Mexico and load up on 100 bass over 4lbs in a day that would be a dream, who is with me?
  11. Yes, Gar, mudfish, carp, and invasives, bass NO!
  12. d**n fellas, If I had deer like that running through my lease I'd be itching too ! This week I am about to bust out the archery gear and get back to my Robin Hood ways! My brother has been scouting for me and says he is about about to put up the cameras!
  13. My own personal rifle is a .308 for deer, but I really like the 7mm-08 its a great round.
  14. Enjoy your purchase, I am sure you saved a ton of money going with the Nitro and their new boats are better than the Nitro's of old.
  15. Suffix I am sure has a larger market share than Samurai so it makes sense, plus bang for buck its better than Samurai, I like how soft and quiet the Samurai is though, so far so good with my 832 too.
  16. 1. Shimano/Daiwa 2. everyone else but,.......... Last. Quantum
  17. I did the same thing, but gave up after two attempts on the first generation models, this is the latest generation one and slightly different than the first generation. Point is that it is a known issue and I am surprised that the new updated model has the same issue.
  18. As per Zillion manual you are 100% correct, also need to use the specially formulated oil on spool bearings only. As a contrast the Team Daiwa Advantage reels have no statements on frequency in their manuals. Quantum also recommends using HOT Sauce after heavy use and/or 1 a month. Ask the resident experts their opinion of HOT Sauce and its use. Given if I fish a my gear hard and/or notice looseness, difference in sound or performance I add either Shimano or Daiwa OEM oil to the spool bearings and/or worm gear if needed, but after every outing I think its excessive, no I am not an engineer and have had NOTHING to substantiate my statements with other than what experience has shown with various reels.
  19. Lubing a reel after every outing is not my idea of what I should be getting with a "high end" reel! This is my THIRD ABU REVO PREMIER and its going on the third time with same issue on this particular model, THREE, not a fluke, but THREE times with a repeatable result. I am not doing anything unusual, but casting lipless cranks from 1/2 to 3/4 ounces countless times per outing and this was my fourth time using it. Going to see if I can record it and post the video up, after that its off to the flee market for a respectable reel from Shimano or Daiwa. Nevertheless, the Skeet Reese models I have are holding up and casting a country mile just like the Zillion and Curados.
  20. At least my Shimano and Daiwa actually take a reasonable amount of time before they need servicing, go figure! Prepare for another reel than, as soon as I get back my Zillion and Shimano Metanium. Brakes are for tree catchers
  21. I keep my brakes 100% off, but have tried all settings and is still makes annoying sound.
  22. As many of you know I am not a big Abu Garcia Revo series fan, unless its the Skeet Reese which they no longer make unfortunately. Long story short I ended up selling my first generation Revo Premiers since they stared making an annoying sound toward the end of the cast and was told that it was normal, by some BR members, but the sound ended up driving me away from the reel and I sold them. Nevertheless, my love for my Revo Skeet models drove me to another newer generation Premier, but after 4 outings guess what.....the darn thing screeches towards towards the end of the cast cycle, like the OTHER first generation ones. So someone please tell me how to get rid of that annoying sound! Is it the type of bearing used? Also, why did it not make sound when I first used it for the first 4 trips, just like my other Premier. Also have noticed casting distance is down when compared to like new. Oiled bearings using Shimano Oil on light drop to no avail I am primarily using the reel to cast lipless cranks a country mile and casting like KVD on crack to cover water. So the cast count is high.
  23. Bruce, Did you get a Gheenoe too? Or were you fishing with the resident snake head killer? Nice catch!
  24. Tackletour and Bassresource, Glenn is on the prowl and should have some cool material for us.
