If you are primarily fishing small lakes with speed limits IMO a tin boat will do just fine, you can get a heck of a tin boat for the price ranges you mentioned. I have a open fisherman, a bass boat, a jon boat and full access to a 17 duck boat, and by far I fish more out of the tin boats and catch more too!

Took some video and pics off the iPhone, problem is without any reference point it all looks the same. The most impressive was flying west from Pahokee towards Clewiston with the rock reef peaking out and gators just lounging everywhere.

My buddy invited me to fly over the lake in his father's Robinson helicopter and I was amazed of how low the lake is, and how someone would be absolutely insane to run anywhere on the South and East sides of the Lake. Dyess ditch was so low that wading birds were out in the middle of it extending into the lake, with the water up to their ankles! What is amazing is how low the water is yards from shore, I hope the rains continue, because it is looking pretty sad, maybe a horrible duck hunting and bass fishing season ahead.

What are the technical specs of something like that?

Nothing like a super-tuned Calcutta simple and SMOOTH. I have a JDM Calcutta 100 and it is simply one of the smoothest reels I own. As to the point of the post, there is always a point of diminishing returns, but there is something to be said about the smoothness and weight of the higher end reels, especially when fishing all day. My favorite is my Chronarch, like it better than the Metanium MG JDM I own.

I am down to two days of lawn watering, so my 2 acres of St.Augustine looks like its ready to be baled. Its so D--n hot the insects are fleeing the yard and trying to get in the house, rolly pollies everywhere! I am with Boca, the fishing can be pretty good, have been sneaking around at night fishing my favorite golf courses and catching quality chunks they are concentrated. The days are brutally hot, but the nights are sauna like still. Weekends are spent on the intracoastal water way pretending to be manatees around Peanut Island looking at high quality views, people and places to escape the heat. Rather deal with this though, than any WINTER up North, at least I can function, must be why Lebron James, moved down here cause it wasn't to win NBA Championships......

The canal is your best option, cover water with fast moving rattle baits and when you catch around an area slow down presentation and fish it thoroughly. You should do well!

You should be able to float on the flats with that boat without a problem, make sure you have a strong battery and a pushpole or paddle since the weeds were thick last time I checked. Also main canal is good. Gators GALORE so make sure you won't be pushing that jon boat back!

First of all I wish I owned the team, its not my team, its Micky Arison's team. Second, the Heat did play as a TEAM and made it all the way to the Finals, but did not play well enough especially in the 4th quarter to beat Mark Cuban's team. I referred to the passing in my previous post to infer that NONE of the BIG THREE are ball hogs although I wish one would have been especially in the 4th QT. How many times have you seen TEAMS live or die, by their superstar, where was the rest of the TEAM then? Your assertion that if you shut one of the big three down is incorrect, look back of how ineffective at least one or two of them are during the playoffs, but the Heat still played well and won. Its not a matter of shutting one of the Big Three down, its a matter of beating a TEAM and that consist of the Miami bench, other starters (Bibby, Miller, Chalmers, etc), and coach, which is relatively weak compared to all but the 76ers throughout the playoffs. Nevertheless, it is a team sport and the Miami Heat lost as a team to Dallas, not as a collection of individuals as you asserted. Barring major injury next year of a star player and a revamping of the Miami bench especially point guard and center, Miami may have the best collection of individual talent on a team and if they play well as a team it could be argued that they should be front runners for the Finals next year, Dallas is going to lose many of its key players due to free agency and they will be less likely to be contenders. So as a fan of Miami I am happy that they made it to the finals, during the season I really believed that the Celtics or the Bulls would have beaten them in the playoffs, but they made it to the finals in their first year with the "Experiment" more than many fans could have wished for. Again, congrats to the Dallas Mavericks organization for their 1st Championship, as a Miami fan I am looking forward to more Championships in the following years with the BIG THREE and the rest of the TEAM!

Although, I believe James underachieved as an individual, I believe they functioned as a TEAM throughout the season, the problem is the rest of the TEAM was not as strong as it should have been, especially with UD and Miller missing most of the season with injury. If you looked at all the PASSING and ball movement throughout the series there is no question they functioned as a TEAM, the second best TEAM in the NBA.

I wish the Heat could have made it into a game 7, but its called basketball not passing-ball! Congrats to the Dallas Mavericks for a well fought series, I am always glad to see guys that never won a ring go out with one before retiring and the Mavs had plenty of'em. I am sticking with my original prediction in of the HEAT in 7, regardless of whether or not Lebron shows up, it can be done with Bosh and Wade. All bets are off though if Wade is injured or out.
