  1. I am not knocking your Nitro man just going of JD Power and Associate rankings which doesn't rank the likes of Champion, Blazer, Legend, etc., but they seem pretty unbiased. Also fellow forum member George Welcome owns one and is on the water 24/7 and likes it. Bass Cat though keeps winning! http://www.jdpower.com/Boats/ratings/bass-boat-ratings
  2. I own a Ranger 185vs Intracoastal, and a jon boat. Yet, I catch more and bigger bass out of the JON BOAT! I can sneak in places my Ranger can't go. My buddy has a Stratos 201 with the non skid deck and its really nice. I would venture to say the fit and finish aren't as good Ranger, but overall value and hull design is great. Nevertheless, I think you missed too many quality boats that are not on your poll. I think though Bass Cat is always winning the JD Power and Associates quality awards, with Triton and Ranger closely behind. Nitro is ranked close to the bottom.
  3. If all accountants were ethical and actually followed GAAP, and everyone listed, then we would be much better off. Problem is the finance guys like me screw things up by getting creative and try to make balance sheets say something that isn' there (i.e. the projected cashflows show blah blah blah so everything well be alright, risk, what risk?), that's why finance guys and accounts don't get along at times. > Don't you love mark to market if your an accountant, what's your take? Interesting reading here: http://www.reuters.com/article/Restructuring08/idUSTRE48M28220080923 http://seekingalpha.com/article/129281-schrodinger-s-mark-to-market-law-of-dead-cats
  4. That is why I hate single elimination tournaments.
  5. I take everything ANYBODY says with a grain of salt, unless there is documented proof or I saw it first hand, but nevertheless, fisherman are known to tell "fish stories." Anytime, someone is BSing me I basically smile and say "Really, Wow!" No reason to burst their bubble. I am guilty or rounding up myself. If its 7lbs 8ozs and its not a tournament fish, you bet your butt, I'll be telling my buddies yeah I caught a 8lber ;D. By the way I caught a huge snook approaching 40lbs if not bigger with my brother while wade fishing the Intracoastal, at the time we did not bring a camera nor could we keep the fish, but you bet your butt the memory is ingrained, its your choice to believe it or not
  6. Dude, if any of you have a crystal ball tell me, cause I don't no anyone who can figure the market out yet. If anyone here does, please contact me asap, I'll make you and I RICH!
  7. Keep at it. Nothing like hooking a hog on the reel your serviced and watch you hard work pay off!
  8. Thanks guys, my canal system is pretty good, and has plenty of forage (tilipia/bluegill) for the bucketmouths, I added a fish feeder and got a neighbor to add one to his dock. Also, every bass I catch over 4lbs on excursions I release. The cool think is my brother caught a 12lb ??oz donkey out of here over 6 years ago, I hope I run into him ;D.
  9. Got up this morning only to have my brother bail on our fishing trip. So I made a few cast with a golden shiner tandem willow spinnerbait, this is what I pulled out!
  10. BINGO, my engineering neighbor said its Gel Seal also. Explains the red color.
  11. Its a 2003 with 58 hours, so no warranty. I bought it with very little hours and I just did the first scheduled service on it myself. I will check out the torque on the bolts though.
  12. Did my routine maintenance yesterday (new sparks plugs, changed water fuel separator, and lower unit oil) to my Yamaha Vmax 150 Carb. Anyway, pulled it out of the garage the morning with the cowling off and ran it for about 10 minutes as I flushed the engine to make sure their were no fuel leaks/oil leaks. To my dismay I noticed what appears to be very small amount of red oil between the manifold and crankcase. I hope it is only the manifold gasket. It is on the other side too. I wiped it with a q-tip as the engine ran it would start to seep ever so slightly. Below is a picture of it. Please tell me I don't have warped manifold or crankcase is warped. Opinions?
  13. Not available in high speed. Later, Darn then it has to be the high speed Zillion, but its much higher in price range. I think their was one in the flee market, but not sure if it was a righty or lefty.
  14. You have your order of reels all screwed up, trust me. You are also missing a contender Here you go: 1. Shimano Curado 201E7 2. Team Daiwa Advantage-A Cast 153HSTL 3. Revo Stx (weeeees on long cast, its ok though the bearings do that) 4. Quantum
  15. Can you say new Snook Rod, to mount that bad boy on! A nice Star Rod would be nice.
  16. Here you go Roadwarrior, Shimano Rules, Quantum Drools Carrot Stixs are alright, but G. Loomis and St. Croix Legends are what Carrot Stix owners really want. Also who the heck wants a orange or a gold rod?
  17. That's a HAWG!
  18. , count your blessings man! I am glad you are alright and live to fish another day.
  19. My college professor predicted this 3 years ago! Many problems have plagued domestic auto makers for a while including, but not limited to: union contracts/benefits, recent history of increased gas prices, bad management decisions, product lines spread too wide creating a backlog of huge inventories, lack of focus on core business (GMAC Finance for example), and competition. I hate to say, but they (GM, Ford, Chrysler) had it coming. Unions should have been more flexible, management should have better positioned their companies in today's competitive market, and government should not have provided the crutch for a failed business model. Bankruptcy is not a bad thing if they could reorganize, clean their balance sheets and start anew, yet for some reason politicians made decisions that kept these non viable businesses afloat. I hope Ford can survive this mess, but it would not surprise me to see Chrysler disappear, Daimler dropped them like a toxic asset for a reason, so I feel bad for the private equity holders that bought them up, but that is business. GM should declare bankruptcy in my opinion and start fresh. Government intervention is not the way to go here, I am sure many new businesses will step in. Think as the business landscape as a natural wooded forest, old growth sets in and all is well and green! Then a disaster occurs such as a forest fire taking out a large portion of the woods and ecosystem. Its sad for the animal inhabitants, plants, and trees, but new growth sets and those who survive will start a new cycle.
  20. I do, and THEY STILL GET SNAGGED :-?, I am thinking of super gluing the tip in the worm texas style since the pull it through all the time! You should do well Friday since the front is pushing through. I wonder if the water levels came up a bit.
  21. The neighbor was simply a Strichjunge!
  22. I may be out there on my own boat Saturday, father in-law is in town and brother wants to go fishing, should be interesting with the 2 tree catchers in the boat, good thing about it is the lack of overhangs, but then again reeds and snags are everywhere . If you see a white Ranger 185vs with a non-skid deck that's me.
  23. Apparently from the show he said he kept a log book with meticulous records.
