I fished a Rage Tail shad for the first time yesterday. Is it common to have to burn them back to the boat to get the proper action? Just felt like it was going way to fast to get up on plain and start "working". Any slower and it would stay subsurface.

In my opinion, I have tried the Shadalicious and they are terrible. I will quote myself, saying that they swim like a hot dog, straight to the boat. Just my opinion, as I've used a few different types of these baits. Wouldn't waste the time, or money with bacon grease, anise or anything else. Buy the Berkleys....

Ike's Classic Pattern DVD is great as well. lot's of good info on finesse tactics.
