FAMOUS QUOTES
George Carlin...... I've never seen a homeless guy with a bottle of Gatorade. The reason they call it the American Dream is because you have to be asleep to believe it. If a man smiles all the time, he's probably selling something that doesn't work. If the cops didn't see it, I didn't do it! Swimming is not a sport. Swimming is a way to keep from drowning. That's just common sense! If a movie is described as a romantic comedy, you can usually find me next door playing pinball.

NO FISH IN 08

Awesome! Congrats! I cover Somerset sometimes all the way up County Street to the Dighton line, some nice looking water up there.- New PB! Northern R.I. pays back big time!
Thanx everyone for the congrats! Yes those are two Carrot Stix in the background. I caught this big girl on my Johnny Morris 6'6" MH spinning rod. It's paired with a Shimano Stradic (old white style) with 20lb PowerPro braid. One carrot stick is paired with a Revo SX, and I'm not comfortable throwing 1/4 oz baits on it yet. And the other has a Sol 2500 and was rigged with a shakey head. It was just the way the chips fell I decided to side arm skip the small jig under the birch laydown, and I didn't want to attempt it with the baitcaster...still getting the occasional over-run.- New PB! Northern R.I. pays back big time!
LMAO!!!!! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA! I almost peed. I told you the Mac was good at editing!- The price of tools
Snap On is indeed the mac daddy of tool companies. HOWEVER, $300 for a combo wrench set is way above me. I have a Sears 1.5 miles from my house, so Craftsman it is..... 8-)- Tournament in Central MA - Not Good!
The one in my avatar was awake and feeding on cray's. Water temp was 54* Air temp about the same. This was yesterday (Sunday the 13th) I would say my biggest weakness was cold water fishing...I really only started heading out in March/April the last 3 years. I would always wait til June, but you CAN catch those big girls early. I just proved it to myself! The jig bite is ON!- Worden's Pond RI 4/13
Yeah, but weren't you on them yesterday? Nice job Bassectomy.- State VS State -------- Game ON!
Caught one today, 4/13/08. She weighed 7.50 on the Rapala scale. Measured 23" long. She fell victim to the 1/4 oz Stanley finesse jig. 7.5/10.6=.7075x100=70.75- Belville Pond N.Kingston RI
Aww yeah, it's startin' to heat up in the Ocean State! Nice!- How about 41lbs 15oz for 5?
: What a cracker. Awesome job Bizz. Keep it up! We may need some of those 2x4's out here in New England. I think they would work great in the salt!- New PB! Northern R.I. pays back big time!
Thanx All! Forgot to mention that the water temp was 54* all day. The jig was a 1/4 oz Stanley in green pumpkin and I had dipped the trailer in Spike It.- New PB! Northern R.I. pays back big time!
We had amazing weather here yesterday in R.I. 73 degrees and bright sun. Went out for two hours with Tin and caught one short while fishing around docks. Tin caught 8 more after he dropped me off at the boat ramp.... Fast forward to today. 53 degrees, cloudy with a W/NW wind at 10-15. Rick and I figured what the heck, might as well give it a go. We headed down to "Mystery Lake Y" not to be confused with the infamous "Lake X" of Northern R.I. After cranking with a Trap and a DT10 and 6, I switched rods to the one with a 1/4 oz Stanley Finesse jig tied on. Pitched it under an overhanging pine branch and whack.... first fish in the boat. Nothing to brag about, but it's the first piece of the puzzle. Three casts later into the same spot..... Now it's clicking, two fish in 5 minutes on the jig, within 5 feet of the bank. This place has very steep banks, 10' from shore and you're in 11' of water. We motor around a bit and keep chucking and flipping visible cover. I pull another short out of a pine tree lay down, and then it shuts down for a while. We decided to go deep, and try the jigs out in open water, seemed like the cover was shut down. We went out to the middle in 10' and Rick gets his first jig fish of the year! a nice 2lb 5oz keeper on a 3/8 oz Evo Jig! The wind was starting to pick up and it started to look like rain, so we started heading back with the trolling motor on #2. We start pitching the shore again (a section we previously skipped). I toss my 1/4 oz finesse jig into a birch laydown, let it settle, then give it a hop. I feel it tick a branch, then thump.... I feel like I'm stuck in a thick piece of wood. Then I see the FLASH! Whoa fish on! I start reeling and it feels like maybe 2lbs, then all of a sudden it starts ripping drag like a Bluefish! I think the whole town heard me yelling "BIG BIG BIG BIG!!!" She dives under the boat, and gets wrapped around one of Ricks rod tips. He grabs the Power Pro braid in his hands and starts pulling the line up to the boat while she's fighting! He gets it up to the surface and all hell breaks loose! We are yelling and screaming like two little kids. Rick did a number on his hands with the braid, this fish is getting in the boat no matter what! ;D Oh man, what a sight. I knew it was the biggest fish of my life. We weighed and measured her. Then released here ASAP. The scale started at 7.85 then settled on 7.50. YEAH BABY!!! 23" long and had a craw sticking out of her gut! You just never know what the day is gonna bring when you put the boat in the water!- Baitcasting Question
Isn't that like 1/4 oz. ? Welcome to the forums.- What's the most you would spend on a lure?
I cringe when I go to the Rapala aisle and pick up a $6.99 bait. I guess if it works, and you have confidence, then go for it....- number of rods
3- Anise oil..where to buy?
Welcome back I always get mine in the grocery store, in with the spices and cooking supplies. Up here it's labeled as "Anise Extract"- Absolut ad - shows part of USA being Mexico.

I knew you were hip....- need help repairing cracks in alum. boat!
Pin point size hole... MAYBE ok... but drill out a rivet and try it, hes talking about a CRACK! I cleaned the surface with a grinder, preped it with thinner and held the torch to it for about 5 minutes, no go padro. Never a good idea to prep AL with an abrasive wheel. Especially if it has been used previously on steel. You will embed steel particles into the AL making it very hard to work with. My methods are as follows: 1. Prep with a stainless steel brush used for Aluminum Only 2. Wipe down area to be welded with acetone 3. Wipe down AL rod with acetone (you'll be amazed how dirty it can be) Hope this helps. Alloys are a totally different world than steel. - My First Pig
